Companies initiated a number of recalls involving children’s products and apparel recently.

A company may choose to conduct a recall if it determines a product is defective, unsafe and/or fails to meet federal legal standards.
Skip Hop recalls around 472,850 Silver Lining Cloud Activity Gyms over choking hazard concerns
Skip Hop recalled around 472,850 of its Silver Lining Cloud Activity Gyms sold in the United States over concerns that a piece of a toy that comes with the item can detach and become a choking hazard.
The recall, conducted earlier this month, also included Silver Lining Cloud Activity Gyms sold in Canada and Mexico. Skip Hop sold the product at various retail stores nationwide and online at Amazon and Skip Hop’s website.
While it has received 12 reports of children putting the detached toy part in their mouths, Skip Hop says it has not heard of any injuries connected to the recall.
Fisher-Price re-announces recall for 4.7 million Rock n’ Play Sleepers following more infant deaths
Fisher-Price, meanwhile, re-announced a recall last month for 4.7 million of the company’s Rock n’ Play Sleepers after at least eight additional babies reportedly died while using the product.
The children’s toy company initially recalled all models of its Rock n’ Play Sleepers in April 2019 after receiving more than 30 reports of infant deaths connected to the product. A total of around 100 deaths have now been attributed to the product.
Fisher-Price says the risk of death can occur after an infant rolls from their back onto their stomach or side while unrestrained in the sleeper device.
Kids2 re-announces recall for more than 690,000 Rocking Sleepers after more infant deaths
Another children’s product recalled is the Kids2 Rocking Sleeper. Kids2 re-announced a recall for more than 690,000 units last month following four additional reports of infants dying while using the previously recalled sleeper device.
It originally conducted the recall in April 2019. The recall included all models of the Kids2 Rocking Sleeper devices. The infant deaths have been attributed to rolling from their back onto their side or stomach while unrestrained in the device.
A total of 11 deaths were reported at the time of the initial recall in April 2019. Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the sleeper devices and to contact Kids2 to be given a full refund.
WeeSprout recalls around 31,630 of its baby sleep sacks over choking hazard concerns
WeeSprout, meanwhile, announced a recall for around 31,630 of its baby sleep sacks earlier this month over concerns that the zippers on the sleep sacks could detach and present a choking hazard.
The company advised consumers to immediately stop using the baby sleep sacks and to cut them in half, discard them and send a picture to receive a full refund of $17 either in cash or gift card.
WeeSprout says it received 17 reports of a zipper detaching from the recalled baby sleep sacks. No injuries connected to the recall have been reported.
Selfie Craft, NewCosplay-branded children’s sleepwear recalled over burn risk concerns
In other children’s product recalls, in January, manufacturers announced six recalls for more than 10,000 pairs of NewCosplay-branded children’s one-piece sleepwear over concerns the sleepwear failed to meet federal flammability standards and could pose a burn risk.
The recalled NewCosplay-branded children’s sleepwear were manufactured by Suzhou Rongtai Home Textile Co. Ltd. of China and imported to be sold exclusively on Amazon.com.
No injuries have been connected to any of the six children’s sleepwear recalls.
Selfie Craft Co. initiated another recall involving children’s pajamas last month over concerns that the sleepwear failed to meet federal flammability standards and could present a burn risk.
Selfie Craft recalled more than 38,000 children’s pajama sets in total. The recalled pajamas were sold on a number of websites and boutiques nationwide for around $39 from between November 2017 and June 2022.
Selfie Craft advised customers to immediately stop using the recalled children’s pajama sets and to contact the company directly with a photo of it destroyed to receive a full refund.
