Kids2 has re-announced its recall of more than 690,000 Rocking Sleepers as four more children have died since the initial recall was announced.

Kid2 originally announced a recall for all models of its Kids2 Rocking Sleepers in April 2019.

Almost four years on, on Jan. 9, the company has announced the recall again, after discovering that more infants have died in the sleeper since then.

A total of 15 infant fatalities were reported to have occurred in the Kids2 Rocking Sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, the company said.

Eleven deaths were reported to have occurred before the recall (including five deaths previously reported by CPSC and Kids2 at the time of the original recall).

Four fatalities were reported to have occurred after the recall was announced.

Kids2 said that in some of the reports, it was unable to confirm the circumstances of the incidents or that the product was a Rocking Sleeper.

Parents should stop using the sleeper immediately

Consumers should stop using the rocking sleeper immediately and contact Kids2 for a refund, the company said.

“It is illegal to sell or distribute the recalled sleepers.”

About 694,000 were sold at major retailers nationwide, including Walmart, Target and Toys “R” Us and online from March 2012 through April 2019 for between $40 and $80.

Meanwhile, in 2021, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced new rules for potentially hazardous and previously unregulated infant sleepers. Click here for more info.
