Recent auto recalls overview: 

  • Who: FCA Chrysler, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Ford recently initiated vehicle recalls. 
  • Why: The automakers initiated the recalls over damaged bolts, a fuel leak, faulty fuses, bad welds, a transmission-shifting issue, a braking issue, front and/or passenger seatbelts and windshield defrosting. 
  • Where: The auto recalls affect consumers nationwide. 

FCA Chrysler, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Ford recently issued auto recalls over vehicle safety concerns. 

The automakers initiated the recalls over damaged bolts, a fuel leak, faulty fuses, bad welds, transmission-shifting, braking, seatbelts and windshield defrosting. 

An automaker may choose to initiate an auto recall if it determines the vehicle contains a defect that could endanger drivers, passengers, pedestrians and other vehicles on the roadway. 

Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs recalled over concerns wheel could fall outward

FCA Chrysler issued a recall for more than 330,000 of its model year 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L SUVs and model year 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs last month over concerns a damaged bolt could cause a wheel to fall outward without warning

The recall affects 249,752 model year 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L SUVs and 88,486 model year 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs. 

VW recalls more than 260,000 vehicles over concerns they could experience fuel leak 

Volkswagen Group of America issued a recall for more than 260,000 vehicles in February over concerns they could experience a fuel leak on account of a defective suction jet pump, posing a fire risk. 

The recall involves certain model year 2015-2020 Audi A3 Sedan, Volkswagen Golf GTI, Volkswagen Golf A7, 2015-2019 Audi A3 Cabriolet, 2019-2020 Volkswagen Jetta GLI, 2018 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen GP, 2018-2019 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen A7 and 2015-2017 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen vehicles. 

Mercedes-Benz recalls more than 137,000 vehicles in February

Mercedes-Benz issued three recalls last month involving more than 137,000 of its model year 2020-2024 vehicles over concerns involving faulty fuses, a transmission-shifting issue and bad welds on an accelerator pedal. 

The recalls involve model year 2023-2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, SL, CLE, GLC, EQE, EQE SUV, EQS and EQS SUV vehicles; 2020-2023 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 SUVs and GLE 450 SUVs; and 2024 Mercedes-Benz 199 GLE350, 96 GLE450, 7 AMG GLE53 and 164 AMG GLE53 Coupe vehicles.

BMW recalls nearly 80,000 vehicles over braking malfunction concerns

BMW of North America issued a recall for nearly 80,000 vehicles last month over concerns their integrated braking system could malfunction, causing issues with braking and increasing the risk of an accident. 

The recall involves certain model year 2023 BMW X1 xDrive28i, 2023-2024 X7 xDrive40i, X7 M60i, XB7, XM, 740i, 740i xDrive, 760i xDrive, i7 eDrive50, i7 xDrive60, i7 M70 vehicles and 2024 X5 sDrive40i, X5 xDrive40i, X5 M60i, X5M, X5 xDrive50e, X6 xDrive40i, X6M60i, X6M, 750e xDrive, i5 eDrive40, i5 M60,530i, 530i xDrive and Rolls-Royce Spectre vehicles. 

Ford recalls Expedition, Lincoln Navigator vehicles over defective seatbelt concerns 

Ford Motor Co. issued a recall for more than 77,000 vehicles in February over concerns they contain potentially defective front and/or passenger seat belts

The recall involves model year 2018-2020 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with driver and front passenger seat belt retractor pretensioners built between Oct. 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019. 

Chrysler recalls Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee PHEVs over windshield defrost concerns

Chrysler issued a recall for nearly 200,000 vehicles last month over concerns they contain incorrectly programmed software that could potentially disable their windshields’ defrost systems under certain conditions. 

The recall involves certain model year 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicle SUVs and model year 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicles SUVs.

    I have a Subaru Outback 2019 head unit radio acting up it controls many functions .thousands are complaining about it.I stopped using it b4 I get involved in a serious accident.is there a class action low suit .parts not available and Subaru is not doing anything about it.

    Backup camera for 2020 Dord F150 is useless. I don’t even use it anymore. From dirt getting on it to condensation and or rain. It has got to be the worst backup camera I’ve ever had out of the vehicles I’ve owned.
