Mar-Jac, Harrison Poultry Price-Fixing Class Action Settlement Overview:

A group of broiler chicken buyers reached class action settlements worth almost $8 million with Mar-Jac Poultry and worth $3.3 million with Harrison Poultry, following a complaint that the two companies, among 12 others, had been fixing prices for years.
These latest settlements bring the total recovery amount regarding this chicken price-fixing case to $181 million.
Mar-Jac, Harrison Poultry Settlement Part of Massive Price-Fixing Claim
The multidistrict litigation began in September 2016 when consumers filed complaints that Mar-Jac and Harrison coordinated together to limit chicken production and raise prices that would benefit them both.
Under the deal, Mar-Jac and Harrison Poultry agreed to provide testimony and evidence which may assist the plaintiffs in their case against the remaining 12 accused entities in the price-fixing class action lawsuit.
