I have been on gabapentin since 2006 and I was put on there for chronic back pain now I am experiencing memory loss sleeplessness tired no energy I just don’t feel like myself anymore. I’m going to my doctor next month and see if she can help me get off of it so I don’t have any side effects. Can you help me

I have been on gabapentin for about 16 years for fibromyalgia pain. They blame the memory loss as fibromyalgia fog ( guess they are wrong. My vision goes blurry often, memory loss, severe depression, just to name a few.
I have been on gabapentin since 2004, I can no longer drive because I have fallen asleep behind the wheel. I can no longer remember daily tasks, there are days that I’m unable to even get out of bed. I have tried to get off this medication more times than I can count only to go through the worst withdrawals and have to start back taking them.

I took gabapentin for neuropathy in August 2019 and it sent me into Acute AFIB! I began blacking out, totaled my car when I hit a tree after blacking out! I also had 4 heart procedures since then and I am also allergic to most medications, some of which I had taken all my life! I was a teacher when I took gabapentin and now due to the ACUTE AFIB, memory loss, fatigue, and other medical issues I am no longer able to teach or do any activities that I did before I took that drug. I can no longer do my own shopping, visit friends, keep doctor appointments, or other activities without a caretaker!
I was prescribed gabapentin for pain many many years ago. I have memory problems balance issuses and I have since had surgery and tried weaning off of it. I thought I was going crazy. I had severe anxiety so I started back on a much lower dose. Could someone advise me what to do?
I’m currently on 300 to 600 mg of gabapentin a day for neuropathy. I’ve had concerns about some strange occurrences happening to be since I started taking it about 3 yrs ago, but didn’t realize until now that it might very well be directly related by this drug. I notice the strange symptoms getting worse when I take the higher dose. I’m going to talk to my doctor about weaning me off of it as stop as soon as possible. My mother also took gabapentin for neuropathy prior to her death 3 & 1/2 years ago, which was why I’d assumed it would work for me as well. Looks like I was wrong on both accounts.
I have been on Gabapentin for many many years now for neck and back issues and for the past couple years I have had problems remembering, my anxiety and depression has got a lot worse!! I had to have surgery on my neck and I’m still on the medication!! My vision is getting worse and I noticed that I’m seeing double.
