Castle Parking Solutions agreed to resolve class action lawsuit claims of improper car booting in Georgia with a settlement.

The class action settlement benefits individuals whose vehicles were booted by Castle Parking Solutions in a noncompliant lot in Atlanta or Decatur, Georgia, between Oct. 10, 2014, and Oct. 10, 2019. A full list of noncompliant lots can be found on the booting class action lawsuit settlement website.

The Class is made up of two Subclasses:

  • Subclass A consists of all individuals who have had a vehicle in his or her possession that was booted by or at the request of Castle Parking and paid fines for removal of said device at a noncompliant lot within Atlanta and/or Decatur from Oct. 10, 2014, to Oct. 10, 2017.
  • Subclass B is made up of anyone who has had a vehicle in his or her possession that was booted by or at the request of Castle Parking and paid fines for removal of the device at a noncompliant lot in Atlanta or Decatur between Oct. 10, 2017, and Oct. 10, 2019.

Castle Parking Solutions is a parking company that boots cars in violation of parking rules. Customer complaints regarding the company have resulted in a Google review rating of 1.1 stars and a Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating of F.

While hundreds of customers have complained about the company online, some drivers took their complaints to court. A class action lawsuit against the company claims Castle Parking Solutions unlawfully booted vehicles in Georgia and Alabama.

Booting is when a company, such as Castle Parking Solutions, puts a “boot” on a vehicle’s wheel. This boot prevents the wheel from turning — meaning drivers cannot operate their cars.

According to the Castle Parking Solutions class action lawsuit, the company put boots on cars that were legally parked. Despite this legal parking, Castle allegedly forced the plaintiffs and other drivers to pay a fee to remove the boot.

Similar complaints were filed against Castle Parking on the BBB website.

Castle Parking Solutions agreed to a settlement to resolve these allegations but hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing.

The $3.5 million car booting settlement fund will include $3 million for Subclass A Members, with the remaining $500,000 for Sublcass B.

Under the terms of the settlement, Class Members can receive a cash payment of up to $45. If a large number of claims are received in the settlement, payments may be reduced.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is April 4, 2022.

The final approval hearing for the Georgia car booting class action lawsuit settlement is scheduled for May 4, 2022.

In order to receive a payment from the Castle Parking settlement, Class Members must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 2, 2022.
