Pocket Hose settlement

Telebrands Corporation has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it made false and misleading statements regarding its Pocket Hose expandable garden hoses. If you purchased Pocket Hose products, you may be entitled to a cash payment from this class action settlement.

The Pocket Hose class action lawsuit alleges Telebrands made false and misleading statements in connection with the sale and marketing of certain Pocket Hose products. The plaintiffs also assert that the Pocket Hose products are defective.

The Pocket Hose was reportedly first introduced through television infomercials. The expandable garden hose was advertised as “a rugged and durable garden hose” that is “strong enough for any job.”

However, consumers have complained that the Pocket Hose is defective because it is prone to leak or burst when used in the manner advertised. This defect renders the Pocket Hose useless, the consumers allege.

Telebrands denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the Pocket Hose class action lawsuit to avoid the expense and uncertainty of litigation. The Telebrands class action settlement was preliminarily approved on Nov. 4, 2016.

If you would like to exclude yourself from or object to the Pocket Hose settlement, you must do so no later than Feb. 20, 2017.

Telebrands has previously agreed to settle a class action lawsuit involving similar allegations. That Pocket Hose settlement provided cash benefits to consumers who purchased the products between Nov. 6, 2009 and Jan. 30, 2014.

  2. Suize says:

The social security number is probably to prevent fraud. So many scammers these days who will do anything for a few bucks!

  3. Suzie says:

The Social security number is probably to prevent scammers!

  4. Bret says:

I think people are getting this one confused with the other Pocket Hose settlement. This one has not even had the settlement hearing yet which says March 3rd on the site. I have a valid claim number as do many of my friends and relatives. The only people who I know that have been rejected are those that tried to submit or send product after the deadline which was Feb 10th. I do know some people who submitted to the other Pocket Hose settlement and were denied, but none from this one. I’m curious what the reasoning is that people are getting denied if it is for this one.

  5. Marlene says:

I filed; got denied. This was a valid claim. This hose was a piece of junk. This definitely looks like another way for the lawyers to makr money on the bscks of honest people who got duped by yet another faulty product.

    1. Raymond Cyr says:

I got my claim number and they emailed me a return shipping label with no problems. I am fedexing it tomorrow should receive refund in 30 days

  6. MB says:

This Class Action is BullCrap- I submitted my claim and they denied it. I am even more angry now that their stupid hoses were worthless trash and then they put salt in the wound but denying my claim. DO not even bother wasting your time. This happened to a friend too. It seems that they are just denying claims across the board. We both submitted valid claims for hoses that we bought.

    1. Davey says:

Be sure to contact the settlement administrator if you truly didn’t have something wrong with your claim. The form they sent says to do so!!!

  7. MACHINE GHOST says:

THE REQUEST FOR A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AND YOUR BIRTH DATE MAKES ME VERY WARY OF THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE PROBABLY DOING THIS ON PURPOSE TO DISCOURAGE CONSUMERS FROM FILING CLAIMS. THIS INFO IS ALL SOMEONE NEEDS TO START TO TRY TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY. I HAD ID THEFT 5 TIMES IN 3 YEARS – TOO MANY SCAMMERS AND CROOKS OUT THERE. I AM NOT GOING TO FILE FOR THIS ONE.

    1. Mary-Ann says:

I think they do it more to prevent fake claims. So many thieves these days

  8. Glenn says:

I purchased this hose and filled out the claim form but not about to put SS #. I’d be willing to show the last 4 digits. Not worth the risk.

  9. Toni says:

I agree on the SS#. I bought this hose but am not willing to divulge my social security number!

  10. Elizabeth says:

I’ve never seen a class action request a ssn and for that reason I’m not going to file.
