Saint-Gobain agreed to pay $1.6 million to resolve a class action lawsuit claiming it misled consumers about the “best if used by” dates on Norton bonded abrasive wheels. No proof of purchase is required for consumers to benefit from the Saint-Gobain class action lawsuit settlement.
The settlement benefits consumers who purchased certain Saint-Gobain organic bonded abrasive wheel products between June 6, 2017, and Feb. 1, 2024. Consumers can find a full list of covered products on the settlement website.
According to the class action lawsuit, Norton bonded abrasive wheels do not last as long as consumers expect based on “best if used by dates” on product labels. The plaintiffs contend the wheels don’t last as long as promised due to resin degradation.
Saint-Gobain is a manufacturing and engineering company that sells products under numerous brands, including Norton, TekBond and Adfors.
