man excited about settlement moneyTop Class Actions viewers are beginning to receive checks in the mail from two recent class action settlements.

Chase Bank customers are getting checks worth as much as $438.75 from a class action settlement ending claims that the bank failed to resolve credit card accounts that were discharged in Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

In addition, Top Class Actions viewers are also reportedly receiving a second round of settlement checks worth as much as $47.47 from the Illinois LCD flat panel device class action settlement.

Chase Bank Credit Card Debt Settlement Checks

The Chase Bank settlement put aside $11.5 million to settle class action claims that Chase continued to report credit card accounts as active and required payment even after consumers declared bankruptcy.

After bankruptcy, consumers are typically not required to pay on accounts that were sold or charged off.

Chase Bank’s alleged behavior resulted in negative credit score outcomes and consumers being forced to pay on their credit card debt despite declaring bankruptcy.

Settlement Class Members included “all individuals (i) who maintained a Credit Card Account with CBUSA; (ii) whose account CBUSA charged off and then sold to a Debt Buyer on or after January 1, 2008, and (iii) who post-sale sought and obtained a discharge of the debt as a result of his/her bankruptcy under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code, through and including the date of the Bankruptcy Court’s preliminary approval of the Settlement.”

The deadline to file a claim with the Chase Bank settlement was July 18, 2018.

Claimants in the Chase Bank credit card debt settlement are represented by Bois Schiller Flexner LLP and Charles Juntikka & Associates.

The Chase Bank Credit Card Debt Class Action Lawsuit is Rusty Haynes v. Chase Bank USA NA, Case No. 18 CV 3307 (VB), in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Illinois LCD Flat Panel Device Settlement Checks

Our readers have also reported receiving checks from an Illinois LCD flat panel device settlement. Some checks from this settlement are worth as much as $47.47.

This is the second round of settlement checks to be sent out to Class Members who filed a valid claim. The first round of settlement checks resulted in payments as high as $1,290.13!

The $104 million LCD settlement was reached to resolve claims that LG, Hitachi, Sharp, and other electronics companies conspired together to fix the price of thin-flim-transistor liquid-crystal-display (LCD) flat panels. Due to this conspiracy, Illinois consumers were allegedly overcharged for LCD flat panel devices.

The massive settlement fund is a result of numerous companies paying into the settlement to resolve litigation against them.

Epson agreed to pay $4.75 million, LG agreed to pay $37.8 million, Hitachi agreed to pay $10.4 million, Chi Mei agreed to pay $39 million, Sharp agreed to pay $12 million, and Chunghwa agreed to pay around $670,000.

The deadline to file a claim with the Illinois LCD flat panel device settlement was Oct. 4, 2016.

I am still waiting for my settlement check. I was told by Claims Administrator Robert Mitchell in Jan 2019 it would be sent. In March I called back. Mr. Mitchell again told me “on the way”. In late March my address changed and I emailed and informed Mr. Mitchell on his business Voicemail of new my address. In early May when I called to inquire again of when…he informed me that check was sent and confirmed sent to wrong address.
He then informed me that another check would be sent end of June!!! (2019)
End if June I received Ck from Rust Consulting. I could not cash check anywhere because I live in NY no US banks on East Coast. I called to speak with Manager at USBank city of Minneapolis, exact bank & address drawn on and they refused to CASH IT!!!???? So, I returned check uncashed to Mr Mitchell explaining dilemma and asked for check to be sent as Cashier’s Check, he affirmed in his very stern and non-help or at all considerate that no cashiers check would be issued “we don’t do it that way”. He then informed me also to my shock and dismay that check would be issued at the end of August!!!! It was end of June 2019 and he will not come hell or high water send a cashiers check or even check I returned until end of August!!!
Today, July 29, 2019 I googled Rust Consulting for their reviews. “Checks Bounce” “Settlement Payments never sent” etc. in same tone.
I called Robert Mitchell today after calling Minneapolis Police department. Robert Mitchell will not send settlement payment he says until end if August. It has been since January 2019 and he does not think timeframe is unreasonable. I wonder will I get check that Law firm has already received their Settlement from last year!!! (2018)
I think it isn’t inappropriate to also receive interest of Amt if settlement check. I am one of the Claimants of this lawsuit. Without claimants there would not even be a Settlement. The fact that we as claimants are the original paying Chase Credit cards payers is lost of Mr. Mitchell particularly of his disrespect attitude and tone like he isn’t required to provide customer care to Claimants!!! And it would behoove him to has sent Cashiers Check requested of him long ago in January. Not sure who he thinks he is. Maybe he will see this review and sent damn Cashiers Check plus interest bearing amount in maybe in early July 2019!!! That would be a lovely surprise I’d prefer not to be bothered with chasing Robert Mitchell around across the Country any longer. Maybe when Minneapolis police arrive at Rusting Consulting Offices due to another complaint. It will prompt payment. Otherwise my suspicion at this point is justified. His arrogant rudeness will not stop me from filing civil suit and perhaps reason I would do so.

so it sounds like the were paying out due to colnspricy and then continued to conspire to deliberately make it impossible for you to recieve the compensation for the first original conspiricy to defraud you all…lol.. its not funny and who do they think they are and seriously im not one to actually do blood n gutz and grease off the rods but if and when someone thts getting roughted and l,osezs it and the result is a bullet in the hread or something then they are the ones wrongly done by and i also believe the conspire to actuall make a person flip it as it would counteract the payments they are paying out and redeem them with thier court compensation so they can get buried with it.. sorry dry sense of humoiur but i think i make my point metaphorically speaking
