Consumers claimed that certain Bertolli brand olive oil products were inappropriately marketed as “Imported from Italy” and/or “Extra Virgin.”

Deoleo USA Inc., the makers of the olive oil in question, agreed to pay $7 million to settle the claims. Deoleo denies any wrongdoing. It contends that the products have always been truthfully marketed and labeled.

Customers who purchased certain Bertolli brand olive oil between May 23, 2010 and April 16, 2018, were eligible to receive a cash payment from the Bertolli class action settlement.

This case involves three types of Bertolli brand olive oil sold in the United States during specified time periods:

  • Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil: May 23, 2010 and April 16, 2018

I received 19.53 from Koller v Deoleo Olive Oil Settlement and 27.00 from the Target flush able settlement. Pocket change compared to what it cost me out of pocket. Who keeps receipts for these types of purchases? I guess it is better than nothing. A BIG THANKS to those who stood up and got representation and started the suit!
