Reventics failed to adequately protect the personally identifiable information and protected health information of customers of medical care providers who use its products and services, during a December 2022 data breach, a new class action lawsuit alleges.
Plaintiff Roger Loeb claims Reventics failed to “adequately implement and maintain data security practices and measures” for the stored personally identifiable information and protected health information compromised during the breach.
Loeb argues Reventics should have known that a data breach was a possibility due to other well-publicized incidents, but ultimately failed to take the “adequate and reasonable” steps to secure its computer systems from being vulnerable.
“Despite numerous and highly publicized data breaches, Defendant failed to implement necessary and basic security measures to prevent the unauthorized access to this information,” the Reventics class action states.
Loeb wants to represent a nationwide class of individuals who had their personally identifiable information or private health information exposed to unauthorized third parties in the Reventics data breach that was discovered on December 15, 2022.
Reventics alleged failure to protect information ‘directly and proximately caused injuries,’ says class action
Personally identifiable information and private health information exposed in the Reventics data breach included full names, addresses, birthdates, Social Security numbers, and medical record numbers, among other things, according to the Reventics class action.
“Defendant’s failure to adequately implement and maintain data security practices and measures for stored (personally identifiable information) and (private health information) directly and proximately caused injuries to Plaintiff and the Class,” the Reventics class action states.
Loeb claims Reventics is guilty of unjust enrichment and negligence and of violating the Colorado Consumer Protection Act.
Plaintiff is demanding a jury trial and requesting declaratory and injunctive relief along with an award of actual, economic, statutory, punitive, and/or nominal damages for himself and all class members.
Last month, the Medical Review Institute of America agreed to pay $2.6 million to resolve claims it failed to protect the private information of consumers from being compromised during a 2021 data breach.

I received a letter today (6/13/2023), that my Social Security number, medical records and contact information were accessed around December 15th of 2022. 6 months later! HIPAA is supposed to protect our medical privacy, and then this happens.
I too received a letter dated June 7, 2023. I was wondering also if I need to do anything.
These class action lawsuits are more of a pain than what it’s worth. I’ve gone through two of them, and they drag you through the mud for years. On both lawsuits, we ended up with a measly compensation after it was all over with. The lawyers, however, made out big-time. It was not worth the effort and stress. Just give it up.
Both of my parents live in an Assisted Living Facility in Colorado. As their representative with POA, I recently received the same letter from Reventics saying they “believe [their] personal/private information was contained in the data set that had been compromised.” What recourse do my parents have in this instance? Or any of the other victims involved in this incident? Could the Assisted Living Facility, (where my parents reside) and where their private information had been stored, be held responsible for failing to ensure that their private information was safe and secure?
i was a victim of this data breach and would like to know how to move forward with legal action.
I just received notification (Dated May 30), why such a delay in notification when the initial problem was identified December of last year and expanded March 1. I’ve already experience a Visa card fraud case, and attempts to open new cards.
I was impacted by this, I just received my letter in the mail this week letting me know my personal information ” may have been exposed”. Beside’s this, I have gotten letters/emails letting me know my tax information was leaked, my medical information in Salud’s database was leaked, and T-Mobile’s database with my personal information. All within a year. I want something more than each company giving me ” a years worth of identity protection-FOR FREE!” Its not working, obviously. How do I get on this lawsuit, I live in Colorado as well.
Just received a letter today, dated May 30, 2023, that my data was involved in the breach with retentive. Why did it take so long to notify me?

My husband was a victim in the Reventicsllc data breach in December 2022 and since December we have been dealing with identity theft and cyber security hacks and all our information is on the dark web. We have numerous credit inquiries and credit that’s not ours. It’s a horrible mess.
