The Wells Fargo class action settlement resolves allegations that the bank used an automatic telephone dialing system to place either calls or texts to consumers regarding a home equity loan or residential mortgage loan.

The plaintiffs accused Wells Fargo of violating federal law by not obtaining the recipient’s express consent prior to placing the calls. Unsolicited calls and texts are covered under the TCPA. Companies found in violation may be required to pay between $500 and $1,500 per violation.

Wells Fargo denied any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $16.3 million to settle the claims.

Class Members included all U.S. residents who received at least one call or text from Wells Fargo in connection to a Residential Mortgage Loan between Nov. 17, 2011 and Feb. 29, 2016 or received at least one call or text from Wells Fargo regarding a Home Equity Loan between April 14, 2011 and Feb. 29, 2016.

The deadline to file a claim for the Wells Fargo settlement passed on Dec. 22, 2016.

  1. Marcrisha allen says:

My check was damaged how do i receive a replacement check

  2. Robert says:

My check was made out to my old business that does not exist anymore two banks will not cash it and I cannot contact anyone what do I do

  3. Ella says:

Cross should be ashamed of themselves and maybe even sued themselves.
They knew exactly what they were doing when they sent those checks out and gave us 180 days to cash it.
Who in their right mind would cash a check with no watermark or no endorsement line to sign on the back?
This was done so once those 180 days are up, the firm or lawyer will pocket all those uncashed checks. The only way to cash these checks are through Huntington bank.
Wells Fargo doesn’t cash these checks.

  4. Katrina MOORE says:

I received my mini check Mon but tossed it to the side bc its not a real check. I worked for Regions Bank in college for 2yrs. There are all kinds of red flags going off with this. 1st the size of the check (too small yo run through a check scanner), 2nd no signature line on back, 3rd no water mark or stamp visible when you hold it in the light, & 4th an most telling the contact information doesn’t get you to a live representative. Just a terrible pre-recorded general recording. So there is no way for any repectubal bank or check cashing establishment to call for verification of funds. Its a scam if you try an deposit it into your personal account they will have access your checking account information once the check is ran through their system by your bank. In the end youll be a whole lot more than the $41 they sent out. It happened to a friend & family member.

    1. Char says:

I agree with you Katrina Moore… I have worked in banking for almost 18 years. I to believe this is not a real check. There is too many red flags. My daughter received a check from Wells Fargo last year. That check was real. It was a larger check with a signature line on the back of the check. Wells Fargo Bank in Mobile banking did Cash her check. The mini check they sent me is not like the one my daughter received.

    Really People……YOU CAN DO BETTER

    1. adele adamson says:

Yes , WF just cashed mine for no fee

      1. Anna says:

I got a check too haven’t gone to the bank only because it looks fake, there’s no signature in the back. It’s for $42 and some change. Not sure if I want to go. Anyway, I closed my bank account with Wells Fargo, will they look for my account even if I no longer have an account with them or will they just issue the money to me?
