SkechersUPDATE: Skechers Toning Shoes Settlement checks were mailed July 12, 2013.

Hundreds of thousands of consumers will begin receiving checks for the Skechers Toning Shoe Settlement within the next few weeks, according to recent court documents.

The Court granted final approval to the Skechers class action settlement on May 13, 2013, which means checks will be mailed by July 13.

More than 520,000 claims were submitted by Class Members, according to the Final Approval Order. Due to the large number of responses, the “maximum amount” allowed under the settlement agreement may be reduced on a pro-rata basis, attorneys told the Court.

The minimum and maximum amounts allowed under the Skechers toning shoe settlement are:

$40 – $80 for Shape-ups;
$27 – $50 for podded sole shoes;
$20 – $40 for Tone-ups (non-podded sole); and
$42 – $80 for Resistance Runners

    Notice: July 12, 2013

    On July 12, 2013, settlement checks were mailed to approved claimants. Checks must be cashed by October 10, 2013.

    This was on the settlement site.

    CJ, get over it. Going off on 20 or so people on a website just makes you sound bitter, old and lets face it, stupid. Maybe you didn’ buy any of the shoe.

  6. CJ says:

    Khrysse, if I wanted your opinion, I’d give it to you. I don’t need the soliloquy. I know good and damn well 1/2 a million people didn’t buy these shoes and have complaints. Everyone knows this is a racket for people to make some change off of, so save it. All this does is lessen what is rightful to those who DID have claims.

  7. my my my.. says:

    July 13 is a Saturday, so unless they went out TODAY, they wont go out until the 15th…

  8. Khrysse says:

    Cj… No one forced you to buy these shoes, and for you to make a statement such as “most claimants didn’t actually BUY these shoes” is just rude and assuming. No one cost you money, but you and Sketchers.I bought 7 pairs of these dumb shoes between myself and my daughters, but I don’t save receipts and so I claimed 3 pairs and am hoping for the best. I’m not on here blaming people for my bad choices as a consumer. These class settlements are not going to right a wrong, but neither is pushing blame.

  9. CJ says:

    $40 million for 510K in settlements. That equates to $78.43 per person. Assuming that 100 percent of these claims are valid, that means likely the majority of people will get much less than they likely claimed.

    As for the date…since most claimants didn’t actually BUY these shoes like I did and may cost me money I spent and got taken on, the fact that some are complaining about a date of checks being sent is the height of irony IMHO.

    Hey Sean, do you have a crystal ball or something?? ……….didn’t think so!
