Samsung TV Defect Class Action Lawsuit
By Kimberly Mirando
According to the Samsung TV class action lawsuit, “The Televisions are defectively designed and/or use defective materials because normal operation and usage of the Televisions exposes the capacitors…to excessive heat and/or excessive voltage, which, in turn, causes the capacitors to fail.”
The Samsung TV class action lawsuit further charges the company with knowing about the design defect but failing to recall the Televisions to fix the problem, and refusing to pay for labor or diagnostic expenses for consumers who’s TVs manifested the defect more than a year after purchase. As a result, consumers “have paid and continue to incur substantial parts and labor fees to repair their defectively designed Televisions,” the class action lawsuit states.
The Samsung TV class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all consumers who purchased a Samsung TV in California from January 1, 2006 to the present. It is seeking restitution, damages and other relief for violation of the Consumer Legal Remedies Act, breach of warranty, and violation of the Unfair Competition Law.

I purchased a new Samsung 64″ Plasma in February 2013, from Costco. I haven’t used the TV more than 3 months because I was living in another state. When I returned home November 2013 the TV was not coming on. I have complained to Samsung and they have dropped the ball on doing the repairs. I still have a warranty, but I’m afraid this problem will happen in the future when the warranty is over. I learned of this issue from Brandmart of this class action suit that was settled in 2013. I researched and found this site and others on this matter. It appears to be the exact problem as before in the previous class action suit and Samsung is continuing to use these defective parts. If anyone can help me get in touch with these attorney’s would be appreciated. I’m considering another class action suit and welcome anyone experiencing these problems. Thanks for the help.
I just purchased this un32eh5300f samsung TV and it hasn’t worked right since I got it. How can I get involved with this suit?
I own a Samsung HDTV model LN46A550P3F a little over a week ago I started having problems when turning it on. The TV has a unrecognizable digitally broken up screen and a loud screeching noise and this start up. The TV recycles itself, up to 9 minutes. Have read and seen many of the same issues on the web. Repairs: some say it’s defective (2) Capacitors that have to be replaced, others have replaced the mother board… Is there a potential risk of FIRE ? I live in Breezy Point NY and survived Sandy. I don’t want to see my house up in Fire because of a TV.
Samsung plasma tv model PN51D530A3F seems this model has a defect. It will not turn on, makes clicking sound, red light flashes, and of course no warranttee. Several consumers have this issue surf the internet you will find many forums. Thank you
My Samsung model PN51D530A3F will not turn on. When I plug it in, the TV makes a clicking noise and the red LED on the power button (lower left side) starts flashing. This is the second time this same failure has happened and the last time they sent a technician out to replace the power module. Is there a class action law suit I can join to get this fixed?
I purchased a Samsung Class 46 series TV 33 months ago. Recently it developed broad vertical shadowing right of center. Samsung refused to recognize this as a defect and wont correct this issue. I am certain that there are many more people, who like me spent $1100.00 on a television who thought it’s life expectancy would exceed 33 months!
I have a HPT/5054x/XAA Samsung 50 inch Plasma, The picture has gone out, however I have sound. I ordered and changed 2 capacitors that were “bulgy”/swollen on the power supply board, but the problem is still there. Anyone got any ideas how to fix it?
Here is what I found:

i have internal star crack on not one but two samsung plasma tvs and i am livid. one is a 43″ model and the other is a 51″ 3-d tv both out of warranty and from the looks of what ive seen online it would probably be denied for coverage even if i was still under warranty but i have to be honest i’m not happy about being out about 1700 dollars for two tvs that only lasted a year and a half. SAMSUNG YOU SHOULD ASHAMED OF YOURSELF TAKING ADVANTAGE OF HARDWORKING PEOPLE WHO PURCHASED YOUR PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL BE CALLING SAMSUNG WHEN THEY OPEN TODAY BUT IM NOT HOLDING MY BREATH. we all need to get together and start a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT if they wont stand behind their defective glass panels in plasma displays.
My 50 inch plasma made a popping noise then screen cracked internally doesnt work junk
