RCI Points Program Class Action Settlement

Timeshare company RCI, LLC has reached a class action lawsuit settlement over allegations it improperly rented timeshare inventory to non-members. If you participated in RCI’s Points Exchange Program, you may be eligible to file a claim for a cash payment. Â
The RCI settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled Glenz v. RCI, that alleges RCI rented certain timeshare inventory deposited by members of the RCI Point Exchange Program to non-members, rather than make that inventory available for exchange solely for members.

RCI denies it did anything wrong, but has agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the litigation.

Class Members of the RCI points program settlement include all U.S. residents who were members of the RCI Points Exchange Program, either directly or through a vacation club, on or before April 25, 2012.

Class Members of the RCI class action lawsuit settlement will receive one of the following cash benefits, as long as they submit a valid claim form by the deadline of August 24, 2012:

(1) Current RCI Point Exchange Program members will receive a $12 cash payment;
(2) Former RCI Point Exchange Program members will receive a $10 cash payment.

I agree with all of the above . There is never anything available even months in advance ITS A RIP OFF.
Nothing what we want is ever available , we have to pay exchange fees. Our shares are for sell, but there is no chance that anybody will buy it.
we are to make reservations on internet.Yea right. We have to call every time we try to use. We were told it would be free for life. Well it is not free they have lied to us and from reading others they lied to a lot of people.
I have never been able to use my points but one time in 8 years. I was ALWAYS told nothing was available for what I wanted. I have also had over over 57,000 points lost or taken from because they say I did not roll them over. If you don’t use your points they make you pay a fee. For What? I am trying to get out of this but nobody will buy my time share.
I used my points but still had to come up with fees
This was a major disappointing time share. After having spent time and money, the results were all negative for our purchase. The cajoling, persuasive talk was all for the benefit of the salesperson, not the owner. The fees and publicity were all fraudulent.
I purchased the travel insurance and have been approved for reinstatement of a travel certificate that I have yet to receive. I started the process in October of 2011. It is now May 31, 2012. What recourse do I have?
We do not take very many vacations, been a RCI member for many years, but when I call we can never go where we want to because there is no available. The fees are always paid five years ahead, because they say fees will be more money in coming years. Reading all the comments they are all so true. RCI STINKS.
What a scam is right all the money we have spent and we can never us our points, with out paying more fees.and never can get the times we want,. shame on those for who work for such a company.
I have never gotten a week or place I asked for. I’ve been a member for many years. Last August I put in for Ocean Side Cal. for this August. Yep, you got it. There is nothing available. Wonder how many rentals to non members got my unit?
