GOAT refunds
The FTC sent more than $100,000 to 6,205 eligible consumers who paid the online marketplace GOAT for expedited shipping between 2020 and 2024.
The refunds were sent following a settlement made by GOAT to end the FTC’s claims that the company shipped some products late.
GOAT previously sent $736,000 in refunds to eligible customers in 2025, while the latest FTC refund payments were sent to eligible customers who did not receive a refund from GOAT.
Consumers who receive a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days, while those who receive a PayPal payment are asked to accept it within 30 days.
Cleo AI refunds
The FTC sent more than $15.8 million in PayPal payments to a total of more than 2.1 million consumers who paid Cleo AI for eligible instant cash advances.
The refunds were sent in the wake of a lawsuit filed against Cleo AI by the FTC over claims few of the company’s customers ever got the promised amounts on cash advances and/or had to wait multiple days for their money.
The FTC further argued Cleo AI made it difficult for its customers to cancel their subscriptions.
Consumers who received a PayPal payment would have received an email notification between Oct. 8, 2026, and Oct. 26, 2026. Those who received the payment are asked to accept it within 30 days.
Avast refunds
The FTC sent a second round of refund payments to eligible consumers who bought antivirus software from Avast.
The refunds are the result of a settlement made by Avast to end the FTC’s claims that the company collected and sold the information of its users to third parties without their consent.
The FTC previously sent more than $13.5 million in refund payments in December 2025. It has now distributed an additional $1.5 million to more than 91,000 consumers who filed claims before the deadline, using money remaining in the settlement fund.
Consumers who receive a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days. Those who receive a PayPal or Zelle payment will have the money deposited directly.
AdvoCare refunds
The FTC sent a second round of refund payments to certain distributors of AdvoCare health and wellness products who lost money as the result of an alleged pyramid scheme.
The refunds are the result of a settlement agreed to by AdvoCare to settle FTC claims that the company ran an illegal pyramid scheme and made exaggerated claims to distributors about how much money they could make.
According to the FTC, only AdvoCare distributors who met certain criteria were eligible to receive the latest refund payment. These included reaching the “Advisor” level and spending “much more” on products than they received in rewards.
The FTC previously sent more than $137.8 million in refunds in May 2022. The agency has now sent a total of $11.4 million to more than 170,000 distributors who accepted the first payment.
Distributors who receive a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days, while those who get a PayPal payment are asked to accept it within 30 days.
Walmart refunds
The FTC sent more than $9.8 million in refund payments to a total of 65,022 consumers who completed eligible money transfers at Walmart between January 2015 and December 2024.
The refunds are the result of a lawsuit filed by the FTC against Walmart over claims it failed to properly train employees, warn customers and secure its money transfer services at its stores to prevent fraud.
Consumers who receive a refund check are asked to accept it within 90 days.
Razer refunds
The FTC sent refund payments to consumers who bought Zephyr face masks from Razer.
The refunds are the result of a settlement agreed to by Razer to resolve the FTC’s claims that the company falsely advertised its Zephyr face masks as being N95-grade. The agency argued the Zephyr face masks were never certified as being N95.
The FTC previously sent more than $906,000 in refund checks in January 2025 and sent these latest refunds in the form of PayPal payments to consumers who never cashed their check.
Consumers who receive a PayPal payment are asked to accept it within 30 days.
