AT&T refunds
The FTC sent Zelle payments to certain consumers who had unlimited data plans with AT&T, following a settlement made to end claims the company unfairly reduced data speeds.
The Zelle payments were sent to eligible consumers who were previously sent a payment but did not cash their check or accept a PayPal payment.
AT&T had been accused by the FTC of engaging in a practice known as “data throttling,” which allegedly involved reducing the data speeds for consumers with unlimited data plans after they reached a monthly threshold.
The company agreed to settle the FTC’s claims for a total of $60 million in November 2019.
The FTC previously sent more than $5.6 million in refund payments in April 2024. Consumers who receive a Zelle payment will see the money deposited directly into their bank account, with a note about the settlement.
Blueprint to Wealth settlement
The FTC sent a second round of refund payments to consumers who paid the operators of an alleged business opportunity scheme known as “Blueprint to Wealth.”
The refund payments come from a settlement made to end claims by the FTC that Blueprint to Wealth falsely promised its members that they could earn a large amount of money from an “everything-is-done-for-you” business opportunity.
The operators of the alleged business opportunity scheme agreed to settle the FTC’s claims in August 2024.
The FTC previously sent more than $317,000 in refund payments in September 2025. It has now sent an additional 2,005 payments totaling more than $333,000 to people who accepted their first payment because money remained in the settlement fund.
Consumers who receive a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days, while consumers who get a PayPal payment are asked to accept it within 30 days.
Amazon Flex refunds
The FTC sent Zelle payments to certain Amazon Flex drivers who had their tips withheld by Amazon between 2016 and 2019. The company agreed to pay $61.7 million to settle the FTC’s claims in February 2021.
The FTC previously sent a total of more than $60.6 million in refund checks in November 2021 and May 2025. The Zelle payments were sent to people who did not cash their checks.
Individuals who receive a Zelle payment will see the payment deposited directly into their bank account, with a note about the settlement.
Grubhub refunds
The FTC sent more than 640,000 refund payments to drivers and customers of Grubhub who the agency argued were harmed by deceptive claims or misleading and unlawful content.
The agency, along with the Illinois Attorney General, claimed Grubhub deceived delivery drivers about the earnings they could expect to receive by working for the platform and blocked users from their accounts, preventing them from being able to redeem gift cards.
GrubHub agreed to settle the claims by way of a $25 million settlement in December 2024.
The payments total more than $23.8 million in refunds. Individuals who receive a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days, while those who get a PayPal payment are asked to accept it within 30 days.
