Brigit refunds

The FTC sent a second round of refund payments to consumers who paid Brigit for instant cash advances.

The refund payments concern FTC claims that Brigit falsely promised quick cash advances of up to $250 to monthly subscribers and falsely advertised that customers could cancel at any time.

The FTC sent refund payments totaling more than $9.8 million in November 2024. With funds still remaining, it is now sending an additional 1,052,038 payments worth more than $6.8 million to consumers who accepted their first payment.

Consumers who received a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days, while consumers who get a PayPal payment are asked to accept it within 30 days.

Coulter Motor Company settlement

The FTC sent a total of 5,790 refund checks worth more than $2.3 million to consumers who paid hidden fees at Coulter Motor Company dealerships around the state of Arizona, including Coulter Tempe, Coulter Cadillac Tempe and Tempe Buick GMC.

The settlement brought an end to the FTC’s claims Coulter regularly charged customers for unwanted add-ons that they never agreed to and other undisclosed fees.

Consumers who received a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days.

National Landmark refunds

The FTC sent a second round of refund payments to consumers who allegedly lost money to a debt relief scam and who filed complaints.

The alleged scam used the names National Landmark Service of United Recovery, Silverlake Landmark Recovery Group, Absolute Financial Services Recovery, AFSR Global Logistics and Tri-Star, according to the FTC.

In a September 2020 lawsuit, the FTC alleged the companies called consumers and left recorded messages falsely claiming to be from law firms, threatening arrest or legal action to frighten people into paying.

National Landmark and Absolute Financial later agreed to pay to settle the FTC’s claims, with an initial round of refund payments totaling more than $464,000 going out to consumers in December 2024.

The FTC has sent an additional 1,389 payments totaling more than $69,000 from remaining funds to consumers who accepted their first payment.

Consumers who receive a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days.

SuperGoodDeals.com refunds

The FTC sent a second round of refund payments to consumers who bought facemasks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) from online seller SuperGoodDeals.com.

In a lawsuit, the FTC argued the company failed to provide next day shipping as promised on PPE merchandise during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company agreed to pay money to settle the claims.

FTC refunds totaling more than $85,000 were sent out in December 2024. A second round of 2,986 payments worth more than $20,000 is going out to those who cashed their first payment.

Consumers who received a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days.

ACRO Services refunds

The FTC sent a second round of refund checks to consumers who paid for credit card debt relief from ACRO Services.

In a lawsuit, the FTC argued ACRO Services falsely promised to wipe out or lower people’s credit card debt if they paid a large upfront fee. The alleged scheme used the names American Consumer Rights Organization, Reliance Solutions, Thacker & Associates and Tri Star Consumer Group, according to the FTC.

Initial FTC refunds worth more than $3.8 million went out in January 2025. An additional 5,685 checks went out last month, totaling more than $6.2 million to those who accepted their first payment.

Consumers who received a refund check are asked to cash it within 90 days.
