URMYWO baby lounger recall overview:
- Who: URMYWO is recalling approximately 23,000 baby loungers.
- Why: The loungers pose a suffocation and fall hazard due to design flaws.
- Where: The recall affects products sold in the United States.
URMYWO has issued a recall for about 23,000 baby loungers sold on Amazon due to significant safety concerns.
The loungers, which were available from January 2024 through April 2025, have been identified as violating safety standards for infant sleep products. The recall was announced on Sept. 4 by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The URMYWO recall specifically targets the “grey feather” style of URMYWO baby loungers with “Model No: UMCZC01AE” printed on labels located on the lounger side. These products, priced between $30 and $50, feature a gray cloth cover with feather prints, a foam sleeping pad and padded bumpers.
The primary safety issues are sides that are too short to securely contain an infant and a sleeping pad that is too thick, increasing the risk of suffocation. Additionally, there is a risk of infants falling out or becoming trapped in the loungers due to an opening at the foot of the product.
“These violations create an unsafe sleeping environment for infants, posing a risk of serious injury or death,” the recall notice states.
Parents urged to act immediately, recall warns
The recall notice advises consumers or parents to cease using the loungers immediately and to dismantle them by removing the sleeping pad and cutting up the sides. Consumers should email a photo of the destroyed product to [email protected] to receive a full refund.
The loungers, manufactured in China by Dong Guan Bo Mo Na Ke Ji You Xian Gong Si, doing business as Pomona, were sold exclusively through Amazon.
URMYWO states it has not received any reports of injuries related to the recalled loungers so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions monitors such recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
Meanwhile, Bugaboo America is facing a class action lawsuit over its recall of Bugaboo Giraffe highchairs after reports of legs detaching and 13 minor injuries.
