2M Vornado steamers recalled due to burn risk

Vornado announced a recall for approximately 2 million Vornado, Steamfast and Sharper Image handheld garment steamers due to concerns they may expel hot water from their steam nozzles during the heating process or while in use.

Vornado reports 122 incidents of hot water spraying or spitting from the steam nozzles, leading to 23 reported cases of burn injuries.

The affected Steamfast models are SF-425, SF-435, SF-440, SF-445 and SF-447. The Vornado model is VS-410, and the Sharper Image model is SI-428, according to the recall notice.

Vornado says it sold the recalled products at various retailers, including Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond and other national and online stores from July 2009-Jan. 2024, with prices ranging from $14 to $35.

Depending on the model, affected individuals can choose between receiving a full refund or a free replacement product, the recall notice states.

Choking, laceration hazards prompt Frigidaire refrigerator recall

Electrolux Group is recalling 400,000 Frigidaire Side By Side Refrigerators with Slim Ice Buckets, citing choking and laceration hazards as plastic fragments may enter the ice bucket.

The recall includes 383,240 units sold in the United States and 5,785 units sold in Canada, encompassing a dozen Frigidaire refrigerator models manufactured between 2015-2019.

Electrolux Group disclosed it received 343 reports of plastic pieces breaking off in the recalled refrigerators, resulting in two instances of laceration and ingestion injuries.

Consumers should stop using the ice makers immediately and contact Electrolux Group to obtain a replacement ice bucket assembly component at no cost, the recall notice states.

GM trucks recalled due to tailgate unlatching issue

General Motors (GM) issued a recall for more than 320,000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 vehicles from model years 2020-2024 due to concerns that the tailgate may unintentionally unlatch while the vehicle is parked.

The potential for water to contact an electronic gate-release switch located in the tailgates of the affected trucks creates conditions for a short circuit and the inadvertent unlatching of the gate, according to the recall notice.

GM says it will address the problem by having authorized dealers replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies on the recalled pickup trucks with components featuring enhanced resistance to water intrusion.

The automaker advises owners of the affected vehicles to securely close and latch the tailgate before driving to mitigate any safety risks associated with the recall.

GM began notifying its dealers about the recall Feb. 1, 2024, and anticipates notifying owners starting March 18, 2024.

Male enhancement pill recalls announced due to undeclared drugs

Today The World initiated recalls for male enhancement pills following Food and Drug Administration testing that revealed undisclosed ingredients.

The affected products, marketed as herbal dietary supplements for male sexual enhancement, include specific lots of Arize, Schwinnng and Sustain. The Arize recall discloses the presence of nortadalafil, an active drug used to treat male erectile dysfunction. The recalled Schwinnng and Sustain pills contain both nortadalafil and a similar ingredient, tadalafil.

The undeclared nortadalafil and tadalafil in Schwinnng and Sustain products may interact with nitrates found in other prescription drugs, potentially causing a life-threatening drop in blood pressure, especially for individuals with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease, the recall notice states.

The Arize recall involves a single lot with package code 2107 and an expiration date of Oct. 2027. Schwinnng’s recalled lot has package code 2108 and an expiration date of Oct. 2024, while the recalled Sustain product includes  two lots with expiration dates of Dec. 5, 2026, and May 14, 2026.

Customers should discontinue using the pills and return them to Today The World, 11954 NE Glisan St., No. 405, Portland, OR 97220, the recall notice states. They must include the blister pack foil with the remaining pills, the recalled lot number, a receipt or proof of purchase and a return address.
