Wehah Farms issued a recall for Lundberg Family Farms-brand rice sold in seven states over concerns that it may have been contaminated with a foreign object that originated from a rodent.

Lundberg Family Farms rice recall involves 27,000 bags in total

Fox Business reports that the recall involves 27,000 bags of rice in total, with each case containing six bags of the black, brown, red, and wild rice blend.

The recall was initiated May 10 and reportedly classified by the Food and Drug Administration as a Class II recall on July 17.

A recall is given a Class II classification when it is determined that the chance of a product causing serious injury or death is low, but it can still cause adverse events.

In other news involving rodent contamination, Family Dollars agreed to a class action settlement to end claims the company’s warehouse in Arkansas was infested with rodents. The agreement was granted final approval in May.
