Honda initiated a recall for nearly 250,000 vehicles over concerns they were manufactured with a connecting rod bearing in their engines that could wear and seize, leading to engine damage.Â
The recall involves 248,999 model year 2015-2020 Acura TLX, 2016-2020 Acura MDX, 2016 and 2018-2019 Honda Pilot, 2017 and 2019 Honda Ridgeline and 2018-2019 Honda Odyssey vehicles.Â
Honda says the defect, which the automaker attributes to a manufacturing error, could lead to engine damage and cause vehicles to run improperly or stall, increasing the risk of a fire, crash or injury.Â
Honda expects to mail recall owner notification letters Jan. 2
The automaker says it will instruct dealers to inspect and repair or replace the engines on the recalled vehicles as necessary at no cost to vehicle owners.Â
Honda says it expects to mail owner notification letters Jan. 2, 2024. Individuals who would like more information about the recall can contact Honda directly at 888-234-2138.Â
Earlier this year, a group of vehicle owners filed a class action lawsuit against Honda, arguing the automaker sold model year 2023 Honda HR-V vehicles equipped with defective rear windshields prone to shattering.Â

I sold mine after dumping 2500 into the motor for it to run better. It ran worse!
I’ve had every TSB and recall there had been on my 2016 pilot. It just hit 100k miles so that’d be cool to get a new engine too haha
Add Me
I have 2019 pilot =(
Bought a 2023 Honda Hrv LX it back seat belt in the middle is the worst it cannot protect No one from being hurt in the case of a accident for the price I am soo disappointed
My 2023 Honda Accord is so low I’m hitting something underneath that I know will cause some damage I’m afraid to get on the highway with big trucks part of their tires are left in the road those big alligators can get stuck under the car
Don’t run over them. They can’t be as low as other cars , corvettes & other sports cars & sedans
I have a honda odyssey 2018 a it seems it gets recalled all the time I have had a problem with the side door and it has been fixed many times when is enough
I have a 2017 Ridgeline RTL-E. Too many recalls and TSB issues to count. The last recall was for the backup camera wiring harness. That took Honda almost 9 months before replacement parts were available. Can’t imagine how long this one will take if mine happens to be on this recall.
I’ve had an ongoing concern about the hvac system. The set temp is never what the vehicle temp is. It’s off by 7-8 -degrees which is totally unacceptable to me.
I stopped going to my local Honda dealer after I put it on drop envelope to repair a slow leaking tire and told them in the phone. Spent almost $500 on inspection& fluid changes and lists said they performed a few tire rotation. A few days later same tire was going flat. I took it to a tire shop and asked them if to check if any tire was plugged . Nope. Sent Honda an email and since they never responded will never purchase another new vehicle from them.
I felt Honda treated me very badly when I had a transmission problem on my 2018 Honda Pilot. I was well under the 50000 miles on warranty (about 46000 miles as I recall). But I was 2 o r 3 months past the 5 years. The torque. Converter was/is a known issue. The dealer tried to get Honda to cover the repair but Honda HQ declined.
Have a 2022 Honda Ridgeline RTLE, so far nothing on that year truck. It’s going to be a big job for Honda to replace all those V6 engine blocks. Engines are made in Ohio. I would think that would slow production down for new models.
