A class action lawsuit claims that the NuWave’s countertop ovens have plastic covers that are susceptible to cracking after even minimal or normal use.
The NuWave class action lawsuit was filed by Kiana Horn, who says the domes are prone to cracking and shattering because of a design defect.
Horn goes on to state that NuWave is aware of the problem, but has not attempted to remedy the large-scale problem.
Allegedly, NuWave requires customers to pay for replacements covers for their NuWave ovens, as opposed to covering the cost or recalling the item.
The NuWave cracking dome class action lawsuit says that Horn and other customers were financially injured by the defective NuWave domes, and by NuWave’s failure to fix the problem because had they known that the ovens were defective, they would not have purchased them or would not have paid as much as they did.
Horn explains that the covers, or domes, of the NuWave ovens are essential to the function of the device. She says that without the covers, the ovens do not cook food, they do not retain heat, and they are not safe to use.
In addition to financial injury, the defective NuWave ovens allegedly pose a risk of physical injury to customers, because the cracked domes may “emit heat, steam, or hot oil that can cause burns or other injuries,” says Horn.
Allegedly, NuWave advertises that the countertop ovens, including the domes, are free from defects and are safe to use, touting that the domes are dishwasher safe. According to Horn, these representations of the products constitute express warranties.
However, the device allegedly is not as durable and high-quality as advertised.
The NuWave oven class action lawsuit says that when customers complain about the cracked dome, the company tells customers to upgrade from the Standard Dome to the newer and more expensive Power Dome.
However, the NuWave countertop oven class action lawsuit states that just like the Standard Dome, the Power Dome possesses the cracking detect.
Allegedly, the Power Dome does not live up to its advertisements that it is “shatter resistant” and that it “uses similar technology applied in the manufacturing of jumbo windshields and NASA spaceships.”
Horn goes on to say that NuWave does not allow its customers to take advantage of the one-year warranty on its product to get a replacement dome, requiring them to pay out-of-pocket for a new dome.

The NuWave Oven Cracked Dome Defect Class Action Lawsuit is Kiana Horn v. NuWave LLC, Case No. 2:19-cv-07955, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division.

I have a Nuwave that has cracked in lots of places I have used clear type to try to fix it. but keeps cracking .
This started a few monthes after i got it.
I have tried to find a used one but guess no one has one that isn’t cracked.
THINK NUWAVE SHOULD REPLACE IT .
If you look at the wen ones they cost almost as much as the whold oven. the they put a big shipping fee on it.
Have a newer nuwave oven..plastic dome cracked in several places making it useless
We are on our 4th oven. All of the domes have cracked but were replaced–can’t remember whether we paid for them. However, we did have one that was used so much the brushes in the heating element went. We are in the same position as a lot of other people. Cracked dome and no way to replace. We would like to add out name to the list.
My mother is on her 3rd NuWave Oven and now the dome has cracked on this one as well. The dome is out of stock so she can’t replace it which means the NuWave oven is no good to her right now without a dome. Please add her to this list.
I am also on my second dome. I don’t use the oven more than a few times a month and it has severe cracks. The dome is obviously defective. Please add me to the class action suit.
I have had my NuWave oven for around 2 years and don’t use it very often. My second dome has broken after only having it for a few months and now I’m trying to find another replacement and can’t find one anywhere. If i would have know I would have had these types of issues I wouldn’t have wasted my money in the first place.
My dome cracked while not in use. It was sitting on the counter SD usual. This just happened last night (03/23/2021.
I would like for my name to be added to the list, please.
Thank you.
I am on my second as well and now can’t find any in stock so now the machine is garbage add me to the list as well please
I am having the same problems as everyone else. I purchased the nuwave oven and had 2 domes crack in several places. I was forced to upgrade to the more expensive dome just to have the same problem as the original. Now the replacement domes are out of order and my nuwave is useless. Please add me to the lawsuit.
I have two Nu Wave ovens, both of which operate satisfactorily. I have to buy three replacements domes after experiencing the problem of premature cracking. What I find most galling is the unreasonable increase in the price of the replacement domes since my original purpose. The cost is outrageous. I
It appears Nu Wave has made a business decision to continue with its faulty domes because their infirmity has become a profit center.
Please add me to the list of offended owners.
I have 2 Super Waves one at home & the other at our camper.
Both are glass rather than plastic and my original one stopped working after just a little over a year and I sent it back and received a new oven and both are still working well after several years.
I appreciate such good service replacing my Super Wave…thank you again.
Wondering if an IP bakeware sling can safely be used in my Super Waves? I do find difficulty removing dishes from it w/o
getting burned so this should solve that problem. Or is there some device SW HAS AVAILABLE?
