Pillow Cube class action lawsuit overview:

  • Who: Plaintiffs Robert F. Hogan and Elliott Hogan filed a class action lawsuit against Pillow Cube Inc. and Redo Tech Inc.
  • Why: They allege Pillow Cube falsely advertised free returns on its website, but wrongfully charged a processing fee on returned items anyway.
  • Where: The Pillow Cube class action lawsuit was filed in Wisconsin federal court.

Pillow Cube Inc. and Redo Tech Inc. wrongfully charged a $2.98 processing fee to nearly every consumer that purchased a product from PillowCube.com, according to a new class action lawsuit.

The defendants also allegedly impose an undisclosed “15% processing fee” for Pillow Cube refunds, plaintiffs Robert F. Hogan and Elliott Hogan allege.

“While Pillow Cube advertises ‘free returns’ on its website, its actual return policies are anything but free to consumers,” the Pillow Cube class action lawsuit says.

When consumers purchase products from the Pillow Cube website, Redo Tech software Pillow Cube uses allegedly automatically adds an additional item for $2.98. This item purportedly allows consumers to “Try Risk Free with Free Returns or Exchanges for $2.98 via re:do.”

This Pillow Cube refunds fee misleads consumers into thinking they are paying $2.98 up front for the security of knowing they may return the products at no additional cost, according to the Pillow Cube class action lawsuit.

However, customers who return products to Pillow Cube face an “unjustified, legally unenforceable and hefty penalty” of a 15% Pillow Cube refund fee, the Hogans allege.

Plaintiffs say they were unaware of Pillow Cube processing fee until they initiated return

The plaintiffs say they purchased pillows from the Pillow Cube website and were dissatisfied with their purchases. They believed when they paid the $2.98 fee they would be entitled to free returns or exchanges. However, when they emailed Pillow Cube to start the return process, they say they were informed they would also be charged a 15% fee.

When questioned why they would be charged a Pillow Cube processing fee after they paid $2.98 for free returns, the customer service representative told them the Redo fee only covered the cost of the shipping label and the 15% fee was necessary to cover the return shipping costs, according to the class action.

The plaintiffs assert they would not have paid the $2.98 Redo fee if they knew about the 15% Pillow Cube processing fee. They note the Pillow Cube refunds policy has since been updated to disclose the 15% processing fee.

Legoland New York was recently hit with a class action lawsuit alleging it fails to disclose a processing fee upfront, in violation of New York law.

Boost Your Score advertises a loan, but it’s not. You pay monthly and after 4 months you get a credit card you borrow against your payments. However, after learning this is not an installment loan cancelled the loan within days. However after loan cancelled, the Bison State Bank took out loan payment out my bank account in less than one month from a cancelled loan. When called about the taking loan payment out my account, I’m told I HAVE TO WAIT 60 DAYS FOR A REFUND. AT THE END OF 60 DAYS I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND AND ON TOP OF THAT I AM INFORMED MY REFUND WILL BE LESS BECAUSE OF INTEREST CHARGED!!!! THEY DEDUCT INTEREST FROM MY REFUND FROM THEIR MISTAKE!!! TO DATE I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND AND IN 5 DAYS IT WILL BE 90 DAYS I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND NOW! I think something is seriously wrong with this process and its deception!!!
