A class action lawsuit claims that the NuWave’s countertop ovens have plastic covers that are susceptible to cracking after even minimal or normal use.
The NuWave class action lawsuit was filed by Kiana Horn, who says the domes are prone to cracking and shattering because of a design defect.
Horn goes on to state that NuWave is aware of the problem, but has not attempted to remedy the large-scale problem.
Allegedly, NuWave requires customers to pay for replacements covers for their NuWave ovens, as opposed to covering the cost or recalling the item.
The NuWave cracking dome class action lawsuit says that Horn and other customers were financially injured by the defective NuWave domes, and by NuWave’s failure to fix the problem because had they known that the ovens were defective, they would not have purchased them or would not have paid as much as they did.
Horn explains that the covers, or domes, of the NuWave ovens are essential to the function of the device. She says that without the covers, the ovens do not cook food, they do not retain heat, and they are not safe to use.
In addition to financial injury, the defective NuWave ovens allegedly pose a risk of physical injury to customers, because the cracked domes may “emit heat, steam, or hot oil that can cause burns or other injuries,” says Horn.
Allegedly, NuWave advertises that the countertop ovens, including the domes, are free from defects and are safe to use, touting that the domes are dishwasher safe. According to Horn, these representations of the products constitute express warranties.
However, the device allegedly is not as durable and high-quality as advertised.
The NuWave oven class action lawsuit says that when customers complain about the cracked dome, the company tells customers to upgrade from the Standard Dome to the newer and more expensive Power Dome.
However, the NuWave countertop oven class action lawsuit states that just like the Standard Dome, the Power Dome possesses the cracking detect.
Allegedly, the Power Dome does not live up to its advertisements that it is “shatter resistant” and that it “uses similar technology applied in the manufacturing of jumbo windshields and NASA spaceships.”
Horn goes on to say that NuWave does not allow its customers to take advantage of the one-year warranty on its product to get a replacement dome, requiring them to pay out-of-pocket for a new dome.

Hey, I’m trying to figure out how to discard my new wave oven. This came up in my search. My dome is also all cracked and beyond good use now. It started cracking long ago, and it’s just gotten worse. I will not pay to replace it. I’d rather just buy a new product. I’ve really liked the new wave, with the exception of the rack (impossible to clean well) and the dome (first went the aesthetic, then the cracking started).
I have already replaced twice. Please add me to lawsuit.
I purchased three new wave pro ovens approximately 10 years ago never use them did not give them out as gifts until last year. I began using the one I purchased for myself approximately 10 months ago I had no idea about the class action lawsuits. I noticed that my dome was cracked and I don’t know when it happened because I was always very careful putting the dome on the base because I was cautious about burning myself. I would like to be added to this class action suit also.
Pease add me to this class action lawsuit. I am very disappointed at he cracked dome problem.
Please include me my dome Also cracked and I called a few times but they are always out of stock
I have replaced my nu wave dome 3 times. My fourth dome is cracked in 3 places. Only used a few times. Never dropped or banged against anything. these domes don’t last. Add me to lawsuit
The dome on my nu wave oven pro has cracked. Seems to still work, but I don’t know if it is dangerous or not to use it that way. Also, I looked for a replacement and they seem to only have a new one which is tinted and way expensive. I am going to call customer service but I am passed the 1 year mark. If the new one was a reasonable price like $20, maybe $25 dollars, but $79 is outrageous especially if the dome is going to keep needing replacement. Most parts for my big oven don’t cost that much, They just want you to buy a whole new unit and they are not that good. The nuwave oven is nice because you don’t have to heat a big oven, but other than that it cooks stuff the same as far as I can tell.
add me to the list of dissatisfied customer that want at least a new dome.
Add me
Please add me to the list as I have a cracked dome. Constantly replacing the dome will be costly. Nuwave should consider using the same ultra heat resistant glass (Pyrex) that is used for baking in ovens.
I am on my second NuWave oven I still have all the parts to the first one other then the Plastic doom because it was cracked and broken and just could not be used any longer . I bought a new one and now this one is all cracked , I fixed it with stripes of sheet metal and pop rivets and a drill it works for now , but it is not right that it was all cracked and broken . So you can say I like two new plastic Dooms for both of my ovens . And I do believe that the company should be happy to send them to me free of all cost plus shipping and handling.
