A new Walmart recall has been issued for more than 50,000 Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers earlier this month over concerns their blade could operate unexpectedly during assembly or when not enclosed in the container, posing a laceration hazard.

The Mainstays recall involves around 51,750 rechargeable and cordless Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers with model number MS14100094536S1.

Walmart advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled electric mini choppers and to bring them to their nearest Walmart store to receive a full refund.

Walmart said it has received five reports of lacerations — including two that required medical attention, including stitches — occurring during assembly of the recalled electric mini choppers or during cleaning or handling of the product.

The recalled Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers were sold at Walmart stores nationwide as well as on the company website from August 2022 through October 2023 for between $10 and $15, according to the Mainstays recall.

Individuals with more questions about the Mainstays recall can contact Walmart by phone at 800-925-6278 or online, according to the chopper recall notice

Walmart has recently been in the headlines over class action lawsuits, a settlement agreement and a recall involving eye ointment. The class action lawsuits filed against Walmart collectively involve claims revolving around false advertising, overtime pay, price fixing and the cancer-causing chemical benzene.
