Baby Brezza Formula ProA class action lawsuit claims that Baby Brezza Formula Pro and Formula Pro Advanced baby formula mixers are defective.

Plaintiff Jon Borgese alleges that the machine mixes less formula than what is required and as a result his child has received poor nutrition in the form of watered down formula, leading to complications and injuries.

The plaintiff also asserts that the formula mixing machines are falsely marketed as automatically mixing the “perfect” amount of baby formula and water.

Borgese says he purchased a Baby Brezza from Buy Buy Baby for $199.99 on Nov. 1, 2019. He claims that, within a few weeks, he noticed that his daughter was not receiving enough nutrition from the formula that was being mixed by the machine.

Borgese argues in his class action lawsuit that his daughter has lost weight while being given formula from the Baby Brezza machines and, due to the defect, has required medical visits.

As a result of the defect in the baby formula mixer machines, the plaintiff says that his child, and other children, have been fed watered down formula with excess amounts of water, which has resulted in physical and mental complications, injuries, and medical expenses.

“These machines routinely mix less formula than required and needed for proper nutritional value,” the Baby Brezza class action lawsuit claims.

The plaintiff says Baby Brezza is aware of these complaints by consumers but has continued to manufacture a defective product. In addition, the Baby Brezza class action asserts that the company has failed to notify consumers about the numerous complaints and has not taken the necessary steps to fix the issue.

“The products had potential risks that were known or knowable in light of the knowledge that was generally accepted in the scientific and medical community at the time of the manufacture, distribution, or sale of the products and in light of reports received and suppressed by Defendants,” the Baby Brezza class action lawsuit alleges.

The plaintiff also states that the defendant failed to warn the plaintiff and potential Class Members as well as their physicians about the serious risk of using the machines.

“Rather than disclose the truth about the dangers of its products, the Defendants continued to market and sell the products,” the Baby Brezza class action lawsuit argues.

The plaintiff claims that the concealment of information and lack of warnings to consumers were factors in causing the harm to the plaintiff and other potential Class Members. If the defendants provided appropriate warnings about the machines, the plaintiff says that he would have never bought or used the products.

“A reasonable person would conclude that the utility of using these automatic formula mixing machines did not outweigh the risk of poor nutrition resulting from watered down formula fed to children, and that the machines should not have been marketed in this condition,” the plaintiff states.

  1. Jenna McKean says:

I bought the brezza. Researched what setting to put it on. In numerous charts was told 3 for powder. Now I just checked again and they are saying setting 4 or 5. My baby has significant GI issues and has been amino acid formula. Seems like this has been watered down for months.

  2. Cheryl King says:

I do have the Baby Brezza Pro, and I noticed over the last few bottles that it was watery. I’ve taken the machine apart, and it worked for a few rounds. Now it’s showing a error 4 code.

  3. Lancelot Jennings says:

We have had our Brezza for about 2 weeks now with our newborn. I have noticed when I make a bottle myself, by measuring formula and water, it is much thicker than what the Brezza makes for that same amount. The Brezza looks watered down. I have cleaned it properly according to the instructions and maintained it well, it just still looks watery. Please add me.

  5. Nicole Sheppard says:

Please add me. I have both the pro and the mini and both machine do not dispense the correct amount of powder.

  6. Faith Windsor says:

We have had the same issues. We started using this product after my milk supply dried up around my child’s 3.5 months. By 4 months, he was inconsolable, screaming in pain all day, and would vomit everything he ate. We ended up in the Ped ER with intestinal blockages, specialty GI doctors, etc… after about 3 months, he finally cleared the blockages after a hospital procedure (thankfully not surgery). My husband is the one that thought about not using this product, and our child has been completely different for the better since.
But the amount of money, Dr visits, and emotional and mental toll it’s taken on our family is extreme. Our child may even have to have PT for loss of body and limb movement from the aftermath of this.

The Baby Breeza is a lifesaver! I am shocked at how many people are mad at the machine when the company gives clear instructions on how to test! If you choose to never check the calibration of the machine that’s not the companies fault!

We had noticed after two bottles that it looked weirdly thin so we tore apart the machine, cleaned it and retested all the water and formula before using it again.

Once cleaned fully Instead of just the funnel then it worked perfect again!

If I’m using the short cut for feeding its my responsibility to make sure it’s feeding my baby properly. If the machine is broke and you need a replacement, then it’s on the company!

    1. Brad S says:

in regards to this, how about when the machine is dispensing to much water and is inaccurate on the amount it pours? cleaned multiple times and followed the instructions. what would you have me do next? there is no setting to change the amount of water dispensed. If it can not even have a calibrated water dispenser, how would I trust the ability to get it right for the formula?

  9. Mary Flores says:

Everyone who has a babybrezza can test using the correct setting in their baby’s formula and sure enough my babybrezza does not provide the correct amount of powder, how did I check? I put a super small bag on top of the opening that discharges the gunpowder, it must be very small so that the processor does not discharge warning that a piece is wrongly placed, so I had to find the way and lottery! Every time I asked for ounces, either the same or less, the milk ratio did not match the correct formula, in fact, even repeating the process again at the same time did not provide the correct powder, so it keeps throwing you another ratio of different milk than before and then also different from the correct intake of milk i.e. it doesn’t even keep the mistake you are already making of the correct formula this is more serious than I thought and they dole out and you can buy this no matter in what country you are in, where i live i have no chance to sue and file a complaint someone has to do something about it now!
