Ford recalls 16,000+ F-150s over flickering parking lamp concerns
Ford issued a recall for more than 16,000 of its model year 2022 Ford F-150 vehicles last month over concerns their parking lamp could flicker under certain conditions, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall involves certain model year 2022 Ford F-150 vehicles produced between March 11, 2022, and July 23, 2022.
“Flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash,” the Ford F-150 recall says.
Ford will remedy the issue by having its dealers replace the LED driver module on the recalled F-150 vehicles at no cost to vehicle owners, according to the recall notice.
GM recalls nearly 450,000 vehicles brake fluid loss warning light concerns
GM issued a recall for nearly 450,000 of its vehicles in September over concerns they could fail to display a warning light if a loss of brake fluid occurs.
The recall involves certain model year 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles and model year 2023-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon, GMC Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Escalade ESV vehicles.
“Without a warning light, the vehicle may be driven with low brake fluid, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash,” the GM recall says.
GM will remedy the issue with a software update for the recalled vehicles’ electronic brake control module, either in person at a GM dealer or with an over-the-air software update, if possible, the recall notice states.
Ford Maverick pickup trucks recalled over rearview camera freeze concerns
Ford issued a recall for certain model year 2022-2024 Ford Maverick pickup trucks last month over concerns their rearview camera image may freeze while the vehicle is in reverse.
The recall involves 144,516 model year 2022-2024 Ford Maverick vehicles equipped with Connected Touch Radios.
Ford says it will remedy the issue via a free-of-charge software update performed by its dealers, according to the recall notice.
VW recalls 98,000+ ID.4s over concerns door handles could let water in
VW issued a recall for more than 98,000 of its Volkswagen ID.4 vehicles in September over concerns their door handles may allow water to enter the door, causing it to malfunction and open.
The recall involves 98,806 model year 2021-2024 Volkswagen ID.4 vehicles produced between Dec. 15, 2020, and Aug. 30, 2024.
VW will remedy the issue by performing a software update to update the door handle parameters and by having its dealers inspect the door handles and, if necessary, replace them with newer parts at no cost to vehicle owners, the recall notice states.
Stellantis recalls 32,000+ Jeep instrument panel short-circuit concerns
Stellantis North America issued a recall last month for more than 32,000 model year 2020-2024 Jeep Gladiator and model year 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles.
The Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Wrangler vehicles contain instrument panel clusters that could short circuit and fail, preventing “critical” safety information from being displayed, according to the recall notice.
“An (instrument panel cluster) that is not visible to the driver may result in the driver’s attention being diverted from the driving task while trying to locate a desired display, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning,” the Jeep recall says.
Stellantis will remedy the issue by having its dealers replace the instrument panel clusters in the recalled Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles free of charge, the recall notice states.
FCA recalls 1.2M+ Ram 1500 pickup trucks over electronic stability control concerns
FCA issued a recall for more than 1.2 million of its model year 2019 and model year 2021-2024 Ram 1500 pickup trucks last month over concerns the vehicles contain electronic stability control systems that could become disabled while the vehicle is being driven.
The recall involves certain model year 2019 and 2021-2024 Ram 1500 pickup truck vehicles produced between Oct. 31, 2017, and Feb. 14, 2024.
“Failure of the ESC system when intervention is expected and/or relied upon can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning,” the Ram 1500 recall says.
FCA will remedy the issue via an update to the antilock braking system control module software on the recalled Ram 1500 pickup trucks, according to the recall notice.
