Top Class Actions viewers are starting to receive settlement checks in the mail from a Home City packaged ice antitrust class action settlement worth $16.35.
In 2017, Home City and other makers of packaged ice agreed to settle an antitrust class cation lawsuit for $2.7 million to resolve claims that they had colluded to fix prices.
Home City denies any wrongdoing, but agreed to settle the price-fixing class action lawsuit in the interest of avoiding further costs of litigation.
The packaged ice antitrust class action lawsuit was filed in 2008 by indirect purchasers who claimed that a group of packaged ice makers worked together to determine the price of packaged ice.
According to the purchasers, these actions violated federal antitrust laws and forced consumers to pay more for bagged ice than they would have if the ice makers had not worked together to raise, fix, maintain, or stabilize the price of ice.
The ice makers that allegedly colluded to fix prices of packaged ice include: The Home City Ice Company, Arctic Glacier Inc., Arctic Glacier International Inc., Arctic Glacier iNcome Fund, Reddy Ice Corporation, Reddy Ice Holdings Inc., and subsidiaries.
People who purchased ice from a supermarket, grocery store, or other retailer that was made by one of the above companies between Jan. 1, 2001 and March 6, 2008 qualified for benefits from the Home City packaged ice class action settlement.
Two settlement Classes were established in the Home City ice class action settlement:
Settlement Class 1 included all those consumers who purchased packaged ice in the United States indirectly from The Home City Ice Company, Reddy Ice Holdings Inc., Reddy Ice Corporation, Arctic Glacier Income Fund, Arctic Glacier Inc., and/or Arctic Glacier International Inc. and/or their subsidiaries or affiliates at any time between Jan. 1, 2001 and March 6, 2008.
Settlement Class 2 included anyone who, between Jan. 1, 2001 and March 6, 2008, purchased packaged ice indirectly from one of the defendants in any of the following states:
- Arizona
- Arkansas
- California
- District of Columbia

I got one but the only thing I received was the check. The top has been removed. Also there is no back to the check. It is just my address. I found a picture of what appears to be my check on this page. Anyone else have any of these issues? Any problems depositing?
