ocwenTop Class Actions viewers are starting to receive checks in the mail from a Ocwen Loan Servicing voluntary claim program established over accusations that the company sent misdated letters to borrowers that may have resulted in a foreclosure referral.

According to reader comments, Class Members who submitted timely and valid claims for the Ocwen misdated letters claim program started receiving checks worth as much as $2,000 on Oct. 24, 2016.

If you filed a claim for the Ocwen program, keep an eye on your mailbox because checks are on their way!

screen-shot-2016-10-25-at-1-06-18-pmscreen-shot-2016-10-25-at-1The Ocwen misdated letters claim program resolves allegations initially brought by New York Department of Financial Services Superintendent Benjamin Lawsky.

According to Lawsky, possibly hundreds of thousands Owen borrowers received a letter denying a mortgage loan modification with erroneous information.

The borrowers allegedly received the denial letter which informed the recipient that they had 30 days to file an appeal. However, the date on the letter was set more than 30 days prior to the mailing date so borrowers may have thought the deadline to file an appeal had already passed.

Class Members included Ocwen borrowers who received a misdated letter between Jan. 1, 2012 and Dec. 31, 2014 and were then referred for foreclosure.

Ocwen voluntarily set aside $100 million to compensate eligible Class Members.

The deadline to file a claim for the Ocwen misdated letters claim program passed on May 2, 2016.

I received a notice of conditional denial today saying that my loan was not listed or service back at one and I am still a mortgage holder of Ocwen. Who do I contact

    1. Sarah says:

Not listed or serviced with them. Typo

You’ll need to try and contact Ocwen directly; https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/347902-ocwen-misdated-letters-claim-program-checks-mailed/. Your other option would be to try and contact the New York Department of Financial Services with your concerns, as the allegations were originally brought forth by that office.

I received my Notice of Conditional Denial today. It stated that I was not eligible to recieve a payment because their “review does not reflect that any potentially misdated letters were sent to you during the 1/1/2012 to 12/31/14 review period.” That took forever since I completed my form and sent it off the day I received it.

Company that misdated letters and lied about it now says they didn’t misdate letters. I guess we are all waiting for conditional denial letters now. Took them two years to figure out how to get away with more lies.

  5. Dogman says:

We all to need to call the Attorney General office and complain about Ocwen and Lee Steetlement they are some crook it lawyers that paid there people 5,000 off the top and people are still losing there homes and it’s not right. Lee Steetlement and Ocwen doesn’t care about there homeowners we are the victims in this matter and it’s so sad

  6. Dogman says:

I’m going to call them on Monday to see what lie they are going to come up with this time. I tell you the lawyer at lee just keep lieing to me I call in February March April May and I keep getting the same lie they don’t have a list but the checks will be sent out in June I keep asking myself the checks should have been in the mail it’s June now I wonder what lie they are going to come up with now. It’s June the lawyer at lee said they should have the list and you should be getting a check in we will see like I said to all of us that are victims let’s get together and hire us a lawyer to represent us as the victims to file a law suit against Lee Steetlement and Ocwen it’s time to put this matter to rest. Like I have said why was Lee Steetlement people was paid 5,000 off the top and the victims is being lead around in a circle of lies and can’t get a straight answer and all we get is brush off with a quick lie to get us off the phone.

  7. Dogman says:

Don’t understand why was Lee people was paid before the victims that’s not right and when you call in to see what’s going on Lee steetlement just keep on living saying they have not got the list yet that’s a bunch of crap. I thought the victims would be taking care of first people lost there homes and some are struggling to keep there homes but lee steetlement is only worrying about there people how come there people was paid 5000.00 off the top what about the people who are victims this is not right. I think the people need to come together and hire a lawyer to investigate lee steetlement they are not for the victims they are for themselves.

  9. Lorraine says:

I submitted claim in November 2015 and still in review.

  10. Sarah says:

Called today (3/1/2017), and I was told my file is still under review for a determination letter. Soooo frustrating! They have told me this since early November. When I asked how I’m receiving the same info every time I call, I was told “this could take 5 years”. What?! She said payments will be made in early 2017, and I asked at what month are we considering early? She didn’t have an answer. She placed me on hold & said she would review with an attorney & that it could take 7-8 min, but she was back to me in less than 2 min and said they have the same answer, “thank you for your patience while you wait for a determination letter.” I should have known better when I completed the claim form. Nothing was ever timely with Ocwen….

    1. Judie says:

      I’m still waiting too! ?

    2. Barbara Conway says:

I have been told the same thing since December. “Under further review”. Ocwen is a sleazy company so nothing surprised me.

      1. Dogman says:

Hey Barbara don’t for get Lee Steetlement they are crook it as well Lee Steetlement people got paid off the top and that’s not right people are still losing there homes and the only thing they want to give homeowners is 300.00 now that’s not right what you think
