Hyundai is recalling more than 94,000 vehicles due to concerns about a potential fuel leak that could lead to engine fires.
The Hyundai recall affects specific models, including the 2023-2025 Genesis G90, 2021-2025 Genesis G80, 2021-2025 Genesis GV80 and 2022-2026 Genesis GV70.
The recall, announced on April 16, follows reports from two U.S. customers who noticed a fuel-like odor and visible leakage in July 2024.
This defect was identified by Hyundai Motor America and reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“Retention fasteners were tightened with insufficient concentrations of torque stabilizer at the fuel rail connections during vehicle assembly, causing the retention (axial) force to diminish over time,” the recall notice says.
Genesis dealers to offer free inspections and repairs
Hyundai has received 129 reports alleging the defect in the U.S. market, with the earliest report dating back to October 2021. However, no crashes, fires or injuries have been reported in connection with the defect.
Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by mail starting June 8, 2026, and instructed to bring their vehicles to a Genesis retailer for inspection. Technicians will retighten the crossover fuel pipe, and if a leak is detected, the pipe will be replaced.
Hyundai is offering the remedy at no cost to owners, regardless of whether their vehicles are still under warranty. The company will also reimburse any out-of-pocket expenses incurred by owners to address the Hyundai recall condition.

Hyundai says it has not received any reports of injuries related to the Hyundai recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
Earlier this month, Hyundai recalled 46,000 Hyundai Palisade and Palisade Hybrid vehicles due to a seat belt indicator malfunction.
