Hydroxatone “Free Trial” Is a Scam, Says Class Action Lawsuit

By Sarah Pierce

Hydroxatone free trial scamA class action lawsuit claims Atlantic Coast Media Group and Hydroxatone run a scam by advertising a free trial for beauty products and using the credit card information they get for the $7.95 “shipping and handling” fee to bill customers $209 for a 3-month supply.

According to the Atlantic Coast Media Group and Hydroxatone class action lawsuit:

“Defendants advertise that these products are tested as a free trial and that consumers will only have to pay for shipping and handling in order to receive this free trial. This is a lie and a breach of agreement, because instead of sending the customers a free trial, Defendants send customers a three-month supply of products, then bill the customer’s credit card for the entire three-month supply. In many cases, Defendants also send and bill for other products (such as vitamins), which the customer has not ordered. Defendants have done this to thousands of people across the country. This is illegal, and this lawsuit seeks to stop this practice and recover all of the money that defendants wrongfully took from the Plaintiffs.”

The Hydroxatone scam class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all persons who participated in a free trial of any product from Atlantic Coast Media Group and Hydroxatone, for payment of only shipping and handling; provided a credit card or debit card number, and were billed on that card by Defendants more than shipping and handling, without subsequent written authorization to do so.

It is seeking compensatory damages, punitive damages and attorney and court fees for Breach of Contract, Fraud, Unjust Enrichment and Sending Unordered Consumer Products.

This is a SCAM. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. I ordered the product and three months later received a bill for $139.95. I told them that I didn’t like the product and wouldn’t pay. I used a debit card that only has $11.00 on it from the start so they couldn’t go into my account and get anymore. I am returning the product and will NEVER purchase from them again.

Everyone knows that if you get a tracking number when you ship something noone can ever deny not receiving the package. So, get a tracking number… track it.. and when its received by the person/company you know its there…. very simple…

I also ordered the trial product and returned it within the time frame required.I called them because I did not receive a response, and was charged 69.95 twice on my credit card. I was told that it was past the deadline.
The product also made my face red and my eyes sting.

They thieved me too. I cancelled and returned their product within time frame as required and they kept my money and charged me for three month supply anyway. They thieved so many people and were exposed by so many that they are trying to be slick by changing their name to restart the scam (used to be Hydroderm)

After a month, i saw i was billed twice for $69.95. when i called they said they did not receive the package. It is clearly a scam! how can i join a class action lawsuit? help! this company shoudl be closed down!

yes it really is i ordered it and cancelled and returned the product within 4 weeks because it broke my skin out they say they never received it and tried to charge my card for 200 plus dollars and they are still harassing me. But I have my bank and postal receipt when I returned it and they still say I didn’t return it.

Addendum: The only SCAM is a wife of a lawyer trying to get FREE Product and then Suing with her husband CONFLICT OF INTEREST, because she thinks,”she is ENTITLED” Not scam? Can you say,”Scum Bag”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!””

So when you go to the local super market and you see Hormone Free Milk do you expect to walk out of the store and not pay?
There is no risk in the trial period.People read the terms and conditions and are read them and agree to them? Class Action Law suit for 5,000,000.00 by a woman which her husband is the lawyer? Isn’t that a Conflict Of Interest? Come on! You just wanted Free Product admit it!

I went for the free trial. I also knew it was going to be an autoship. I cancelled after the first 2-3 months – in July. I received and was charged for the July shipment. I received an email back from Customer Service advising they had stopped my autoship. True to their word, this stopped. I not received any further shipments.
However, I have been charged in August AND September, even though I am not receiving the product any longer.
On attempting to contact Customer Service to request they return my funds taken illegally, once the autoship had been cancelled; my emails are coming back unable to be delivered!
    BUYER BEWARE!
I will now have to get in contact with my Visa Debit provider to ensure these fraudulent charges CEASE!
