CD Projekt Red, the developers of Cyberpunk 2077, have begun negotiating a settlement to resolve investors’ claims related to the game’s glitchy launch.
Four class action lawsuits were filed against CD Projekt Red — and later consolidated into one — after the game was released with a number of bugs and reports that it ran badly on older consoles, reports The Verge.
The game’s issues were so severe that Sony decided to pull the title from its Playstation Store within one week of its release in December of last year. The company also offered refunds to individuals who’d purchased it.
“SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via Playstation Store,” Sony said on the game’s refund website, at the time. “SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from Playstation’s Store until further notice.”
The potential settlement agreement still has a number of questions to resolve, including how funds will be allocated and how the settlement will be administered.
Plaintiffs have been given until Jan. 13, 2022 to either file for preliminary approval of a settlement or provide a status update, according to the order.
Cyberpunk 2077 eventually returned to the Playstation Store in June, however it was released with a warning to Playstation 4 users that the game still may not run entirely smoothly.
“Users continue to experience performance issues with this game. Purchase for use on PS4 systems is not recommended,” says the Playstation Store listing. “For the best Cyberpunk experience on Playstation, play on PS4 Pro and PS5 systems.”

4 thoughts onCD Projekt Red Begins Negotiating Class Action Settlement Over Bungled Cyberpunk 2077 Game Release
I bought cyberpunk around Christmas time last year( Not knowing about the Issues it was having, There is no warning stating that the game may be un-playable or anything) tried to play it as soon as it was installed, but it kept crashing my whole system, not just the game would turn off but my system would power down and restart also. So I put it up figured it was just a new game and needed some bugs worked out a lil, not knowing that it was also rushed to get out on shelves to the point where it’s nearly impossible not to see the glitches or issues during the creation of the game, I feel like as a customer for epic games and Xbox etc. that we as customers should get some back for buying a $60 game that is under functionable for all Game consoles.
Sorry didn’t mean to put epic games I met to put CD Projekt RED
Please add me, I have a ps5 and my 4pro nearly crash every time I turn it on and my 4 now won’t even work
This game and sevralothers have just felt like a scam like “forspoken” or let’s talk about the new playstation subscription that’s worthless because I’ve already paid for premium now I pay for it twice yearly just to have the same thing I had but at dubble the price.
