ZLINE gas range recall overview:

  • Who: ZLINE recalled about 28,000 of its gas ranges.
  • Why: The ovens can emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.
  • Where: The recall is active in the United States.

ZLINE recalled about 28,000 of its gas ranges as their ovens can emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.

The recall comes after the firm has received 44 reports of carbon monoxide emission, including three reports of consumers seeking medical attention.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website posted the recall notice for ZLINE 30-inch and 36-inch RG gas ranges on Dec. 29.

According to the ZLINE recall, the oven of the gas ranges can emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide while in use, “posing a serious risk of injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning.”

Stop using ovens until repair is available, gas range recall says

The ZLINE recall involves the oven compartment of ZLINE gas ranges with model numbers RG30, RGS-30, RGB-30, RG36, RGS-36 and RGB-36. The model number is printed on a label on the back of the range.

For ranges purchased after 2020, the model number is also printed on a label underneath the right side of the range top, visible when the oven door is open.

Consumers should immediately stop using the oven compartment of the recalled ranges until a free repair is available, the gas range recall says.

Consumers may continue to use the range tops, which are unaffected by the issue, according to the recall. ZLINE says it is working to develop repairs for all affected units.

ZLINE sold the ranges at Best Buy, Lowe’s, The Home Depot and The Range Hood Store nationwide and online at www.bestbuy.com, www.build.com, www.costco.com, www.homedepot.com, www.therangehoodstore.com, www.overstock.com and www.wayfair.com.

The gas ranges were sold from Feb. 2019 through Dec. 2022 for between $2,300 and $5,000.

Meanwhile, more than 144,000 stoves from seven different brands were recalled in 2021 in the United States and Canada due to the risk of tipping over, injuring and burning people.

  1. Michael Bucci says:

I ended up in the hospital twice tied very likely tied to carbon monoxide poisoning from my Zline oven. The first time was shortly after they “repaired” the oven then the second time was right after Thanksgiving. It is shocking that they would really only make an attempt to alert their customers only days before Thanksgiving. Almost $50k in bills sent to my insurance company. When I initially reached out to Z-Line, they assured me that they would cover my expenses. Recent attempts to reach their people have gone unanswered.

It’s been 2 months since I received the letter and a month since they dispatched to a repairman. Repair company said they’ve received 400 cases and have no idea when they will get here. Zline offered me $300 with receipts for “damages” and loss of use; I don’t have receipts. They stopped responding to emails and no one answers their phone. The carbon monoxide detector I purchased confirms that this company has been poisoning me for who knows how long. No one will help and I’m tired of not having access to a $3000 appliance. I honestly don’t even want this in my home!

I have also been trying to reach them. I have been waiting for a call now for almost a month. Someone should open a class action suite against them. I am pretty sure their offer of $300 will not cover the repair needed.
