Strollers, Whole Foods cakes among top recalls for week of 11/14

Mockingbird, Boston Baking, Carter’s recalls overview:

Several popular companies, retailers and manufacturers announced top recalls this week for products that may pose injury to consumers. 

Mockingbird strollers recalled following injuries

On Nov. 10, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website posted a recall notice for about 149,000 Mockingbird Single-to-Double Strollers after the company received reports of eight injuries caused by the product.

The recall notice states the lower side of the stroller frame can crack, posing a falling risk to children. The company received 138 reports of the stroller cracking. 

Mockingbird sold the strollers for between $395 and $450 at Target stores nationwide and online at hellomockingbird.com, babylist.com, goodbuygear.com and target.com from March 2020 to September 2022. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Mockingbird to receive a free frame reinforcement kit, which includes two frame clamps that attach to the sides of the stroller to reinforce the frame.

Boston Baking recalls crumb cakes due to undeclared pecans

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration website posted a recall notice Nov. 14 for Boston Baking’s Mini Cinnamon Crumb Cakes after they were discovered to contain pecans that were not declared on the ingredient list. 

The affected product comes in a 3-ounce, clear plastic package and is marked with packed-on date of Oct. 17 to Nov. 10, 2022, a sell-by date of Oct. 22 to Nov. 15, 2022, and UPC (01)00238543000007(3904)0019900 on the back.

No illnesses or customer complaints have been reported to date; however, customers with allergies to pecans run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.

The recalled crumb cakes were sold at select Whole Foods Market stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New Jersey and New York. Consumers should not consume the product if they are allergic to pecans and can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Carter’s pajamas recalled due to small wire pieces

The WIlliam Carter Co. (Carter’s) recalled its Infant’s Yellow Footed Fleece Pajamas with Animal Graphic after consumers found small metal wire pieces in the pajamas. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website posted the recall notice Nov. 17 for 50,800 products in the United States and 200 in Canada.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled product away from children as the wire pieces pose puncture and laceration hazards to young children. Consumers can then return them to a Carter’s store location for a full refund in the form of a gift card

The recalled pajamas are yellow with an all-over heart design and a pink animal graphic. The UPC numbers of the items affected by the recall are 195861313861, 195861313878 and 195861313885. The pajamas were sold at Carter’s, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Belk, Boscov’s and other stores nationwide and online at Carters.com from July through September 2022 for about $22.
