Consumers Should Throw Away The Affected Products Or Return to Place of Purchase
FSIS is urging consumers who have the products in their fridges or freezers to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. Consuming food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected.
FSIS says that anyone concerned about an illness should contact their healthcare provider. Â
