When in the closed and stored position, the Wayfair Murphy beds measure about 62 inches wide and 47 inches tall and have the appearance of drawers. When opened in the bed position, it measures about 62 inches wide and 82 inches long.

8 thoughts onMurphy beds sold at Wayfair recalled due to injury risk
I purchased this in brown. I was told for over a year that I would receive a refund. They are not responding to my emails and no one answers the phone. The bed fell and damaged my hardwood floors. It is impossible to open and close on your own. I was scared to try anymore and am not using it for obvious reasons. I had to purchase another bed and am out close to $2000 now. This is just not right!! What can we do? How do we start a law suit?
I had asked for refund as well over a year ago , I was also told that I would be notified when the would be able to send a pickup . I was not also asked three times to prove proof of purchase. ( which I supplied three times) I had also paid for an extended warranty which was not honored due to recall! In one of my monthly emails back and forth told to hire a moving company and storage facility if it was in my way. That they would refund this as well. In my communication in September I was also told that I could have a salvage company come and get the bed but to first distort the face of the bed and to write .in permanent marker destroyed and recalled and take a picture . They would refund the bed and the cost of disposal!!!??? Well how can they change their minds now and only repair not refund. I was told to leave outside three times as well in the elements! When I wrote and asked the company what now! They stated that they are only doing repairs not refunds and following CPSC guidelines as of Nov 2024. I have all communication in writing from Room&Loft and myself. Where does a person go from here for satisfaction? I am out over $2,000 no bed to sleep in, no refund any longer in site. When this was a government recall. I even asked for a replacement ( swap) no luck!!! Please Help
I was 1649 in line for pickup for a full refund. Then, I noticed the offered fix up scenario. I do not accept the fix up offer.
I’m 81 years old, physically handicapped and had to resort to sleeping on my recliner. The bed is dangerously haphazard to my health.
Please sent someone to pick it up and refund me the full amount I paid for it.
I did everything they asked to get a refund. 10 months after I performed, they say a refund is no longer an option. I moved stuff around so I wouldn’t trip over this giant dust catcher, so I am livid, to say the least. They appear to be saying some Fed Government entity has appoved fixing as the only remedy. I am highly skeptical.
Purchased the Windsor queen Murphy bed from Wayfair. Room and Loft offered a refund and after several email back and forth they notified me this week that the recall is no longer offered. Instead, they are sending out repair kits that I can have installed or install myself. This is not acceptable to me since I don’t even know if that kit will fix the problem. In the meantime, the bed is nut usable and I would like a refund.
Murphy bed was purchased in December 2022 but not delivered to me until December 2023, as I was moving to a new build and it hadn’t been completed yet when I bought the bed. I received notice in December 2023 that it had been recalled, and I have since contacted “Room and Loft” at least four times to have the bed returned to them and a refund sent to me. My last email indicated a willingness for me to hire a mover to return the be, which they could pay for, and then they could send me the receipt. The issue, as far as they have told me, is the they are a very small company (four employees), and that there is a very large number of beds to be returned. I have had to cancel visits from family due to the safety issue of this bed, and waiting to have it taken out so I can purchase something I can use. I would like this resolved!
I have purchased this in grey from Wayfair I’m 2021. Haven’t received anything, but I have moved!
