Life Raft Treats initiates recall for ice cream products due to potential listeria contamination

Life Raft Treats expanded a recall for its Not Fried Chicken and Life is Peachy flavors of ice cream products over concerns they may have been contaminated with listeria monocytogenes. 

The recall now includes products with best-buy dates up to and including Aug. 28, 2024, according to a recall notice published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Sept. 22. 

The recall includes Life Raft Treats’ Life is Peachy ice cream sold in a six-count box, Not Fried Chicken ice cream sold in a 64-ounce bucket and Not Fried Chicken ice cream sold as a 2.5-ounce bar. 

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control notified LIfe Raft Treats Sept. 18 it needed to include an additional lot of its Not Fried Chicken ice cream due to it testing positive for listeria monocytogenes, according to the recall notice. 

No illnesses reported in connection with Life Raft Treats ice cream recall, notice states  

The company says it decided to also expand the recall for its Life is Peachy flavor of ice cream due to the products having been manufactured in the same room. 

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall, according to the recall notice. 

Individuals who purchased the recalled Life Raft Treats ice cream products should not consume them and should return them to their original place of purchase to be given a full refund, the recall notice states.
