Cheyenne Products has issued a recall notice for nearly 800,000 folding chairs and barstools sold at Walmart stores nationwide after receiving multiple reports of falls and injuries from the product.

The welding attaching the legs of the folding chairs to the seat bottom can fail, resulting in falls, says the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in its recall notice issued Wednesday. The agency warns consumers to stop using the recalled chairs and barstools and to contact the company for a full refund.

“The firm has received 41 reports of incidents of the weld connecting the legs to the bottom of the chair breaking, resulting in 19 injuries, including four reports of fractures and one report of a torn ligament,” states the notice.

The recalled folding chairs and barstools were sold at Walmart locations nationwide between January 2014 through April 2021 for between $30 and $42. The recall affects multiple styles of the Cheyenne Products Mainstay brand products that come in black, beige, brown, and bronze.

Consumers can check the bottom of their metal folding chairs and barstools with padded seats upholstered in vinyl or microfiber for a white sticker label that contains a barcode, model number, and UPC. The affected models are listed on the CPSC notice and Cheyenne Product’s website

The recalled Walmart folding chairs and barstools were made in China and distributed by Cheyanne industries and Cheyanne Products, LLC. Consumers with questions can contact the company at 833-351-1707 or by email

Top Class Actions will continue to monitor this and other safety recalls in the interest of consumer protection.
