The U.S. product safety watchdog is warning consumers to immediately stop using CCATTO brand baby tents as they pose a fall hazard and risk of suffocation for infants.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published the warning to its website June 15.

The warning applies to CCATTO brand baby tents, including Portable Baby Tent; CCATTO Pop Up Beach Tent for Baby, Enhanced Ventilation; and UPF 50+ Sun Shelter for Infant and Baby Camping Bed with Mosquito Net (Pegs, Travel Bag and Bonus Cooling Sleeping Kit Included).

The CPSC is warning consumers to immediately stop using the tents because they do not comply with mandatory federal safety standards for infant sleep products and contain a banned infant pillow, posing a fall hazard and risk of suffocation to infants.

Seller has not responded to recall requests, CPSC says

According to the CPSC, the seller, LA.INNO Direct, of China, has not responded to its request for a recall.

The CCATTO baby tents fail to meet the CPSC’s Infant Sleep Products Rule, creating an unsafe sleeping environment for infants, the warning says.

The tents are not supported by free-standing legs and do not meet the markings, labeling and instructional literature requirements, according to the warning. In addition, the tents contain a banned infant pillow filled with granular material.

The baby tents have “CCATTO” branded on the top and are gray with neon green trim. They were sold online at amazon.com and other websites for about $30. There is no labeling, the warning states.

“CPSC urges consumers to stop using the tents, cut the fabric and dispose of the fabric and the pillow immediately,” the warning says.

In other children’s recall news, six children’s products have recently been recalled, including fishing rods and plush toys. Click here to find out more.
