Nissan is recalling 30,799 Titan pickup trucks and Versa passenger cars due to an issue that can stop their turn signals from working.

The auto manufacturer said it had discovered a fault in the bulb that could cause it to develop cracks from temperature fluctuations and vibrations. Those cracks could cause it to fail prematurely, Consumer Reports reported.

The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits

The faulty bulbs can be found in Titan and Titan XD pickups, as well as Versa sedans, from model years 2020 and 2021. Those who own vehicles with the faulty bulb could find themselves unable to signal lane shifts or turns on the road, putting themselves and others at risk.

A working turn signal is also mandatory for vehicles to meet federal roadworthiness standards.

Nissan said the bulb manufacturer had since fixed the problem, and Nissan dealerships would be replacing the old ones for free.

The affected vehicles are 2020 and 2021 Nissan Titan and Titan XD models built between July 14, 2020, and Dec. 22, 2020, as well as 2020 and 2021 Nissan Versa models built between June 11, 2020, and Oct. 19, 2020.

Nissan said it will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles starting this coming August. If you want to get information sooner, you can contact Nissan at 800-867-7669.

Multinational Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has been in operation for over 80 years and has become a well-known, well-loved brand.

Despite being in business for decades, Nissan is still facing backlash from consumers who have filed complaints about the Nissan company, claiming that their vehicles are defective and the company is guilty of invasive marketing practices.

The Nissan class action lawsuit filings follow claims that the airbag sensors don’t work on certain vehicles, that certain vehicles have experienced transmission and brake defects, that the company is guilty of TCPA violations, and more. Click here for the latest news on Nissan lawsuits.
