Curaleaf THC class action lawsuit overview:
- Who: Ronald Williamson filed a class action lawsuit against Curaleaf Inc.
- Why: Williamson claims Curaleaf mislabeled its Select CBD drops, resulting in consumers unknowingly purchasing drops that contained tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
- Where: The class action lawsuit was filed in Oregon federal court.
Curaleaf marketed and sold a batch of cannabidiol (CBD) drops that contained the psychoactive compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), despite advertising to the contrary, a new class action lawsuit alleges.
Plaintiff Ronald Williamson claims Curaleaf failed to label, market or advertise that the batch of Select CBD drops contained “any or any substantial amount” of THC. He alleges Curaleaf violated Oregon law by not providing a warning label that the product contained THC, which he argues is “not fit for unintentional human consumption.”
“Defendant falsely represented that the products had the characteristics, uses, benefits and qualities of a CBD product not containing THC,” the Curaleaf class action states.
Curaleaf class action alleges company ‘willful, reckless’ by not disclosing THC content
By purchasing Select CBD drops allegedly containing THC, Williamson argues he and other consumers suffered “ascertainable loss” on account of the fact the products were “worth less” due to Curaleaf’s alleged false representations.
Further, Williamson argues Curaleaf was “willful and reckless” by failing to disclose the batch of Select CBD drops contained THC, saying it “should and would have known” had it not been for “gross negligence.”
“Defendant failed to maintain adequate quality controls measures, safety procedures, testing policies, training materials, sufficient supervision and reasonable employment practices,” the Curaleaf class action states.
Wiliamson claims Curaleaf is in violation of Oregon’s Unlawful Trade Practices Act. He demands a jury trial and requests either actual damages or $200 in statutory and punitive damages for himself and all class members.
Williamson wants to represent a class of Oregon consumers who, on or after June 19, 2021, purchased an allegedly mislabeled Select CBD drop that contained a substantial amount of THC.
The class action lawsuit is only the latest to target Curaleaf with claims the company sells products marketed as CBD-only that actually contain THC.
Several class actions have been filed against the company in Oregon following claims that a mixup of CBD and THC products led to consumers becoming ill or dying.

So I got some as a wedding gift and and I was rushed to eating one because the guest that brought it was in a rush and she wanted me to do one with her, so I AGREED to do ONE. When I tell you I wished I never did, my eyes were so heavy and they were advised as extra energy so I thought I was going to be bouncing off the wall. That was not the case I was fighting to stay awake with a house full off guest. Wedding CRASHER Curaleaf
