Consumers have filed a class action against a supplement maker alleging that their SeroVital ā€œanti-aging miracleā€ is falsely advertised as being able toĀ increase human growth hormone levels by 682 percent, reduce wrinkles, strengthen bones, and increase sex drive.

Lead plaintiff Raul Pizana recently filed the class action against SanMedica International LLC alleging that their SeroVital-hgh supplement is marketed with false claims.

The company allegedly advertises the supplement as an ā€œanti-aging miracle,ā€ but the supplement does not deliver on any of the claims.

ā€œIn short, the product is no more effective for its advertised purposes than a placebo, and is therefore worthless to California consumers who, upon information and belief, have collectively expended tens of millions of dollars or more on the product during the proposed four-year class period,ā€ the SeroVital-hghĀ class action lawsuit states.

According to the class action, SanMedica claims that SeroVital can make consumers ā€œlook and feel decades ā€“ not years, but decades ā€“ youngerā€ by increased human growth hormone levels. The hormone levels are allegedly associated with ā€œYouthful Skin Integrity*, Lean Musculature*, Elevated Energy Production*, [and] Adipose Tissue Distribution.ā€

However, Pizana claims that a private investigation into the supplementā€™s effectiveness showed that SeroVital does not deliver on the dramatic claims it advertises.

The plaintiff says he hired endocrinology experts Dr. Shlomo Melmed and Dr. David H. Madoff, who allegedly found that the supplement cannot increase human growth hormone levels by 682 percent or provide other benefits. Dr. Melmed is the head of Cedars Sinai Medical Centerā€™s pituitary department in Los Angeles and Dr. Madoff is a professor at The John Hopkins University School of Medicine.

The SeroVital-hgh anti-aging class action states that multiple studies have reached the same conclusion as Pizanaā€™s professional study. Pizana also states that the Federal Trade Commission made a statement that human growth hormone supplements, such as SeroVital, do not have the same effect as prescription human growth hormone injections.

The SeroVital-hgh false advertising class action lawsuit also claims that SanMedicaā€™s own study shows that the supplement is no better than a placebo. The company allegedly highlights aspects of their own studies to give consumers a false impression of the supplementā€™s effectiveness. Pizana says that SanMedica did not publish their study in a peer-reviewed journal to avoid further scrutiny.

ā€œIncredibly, upon information and belief, Defendants have sold tens of millions of dollars or more worth of the Product to California consumers based upon the false promises and misleading advertisements described herein,ā€ the SeroVital class action lawsuit states.

Pizana seeks to represent a Class of California residents who purchased SeroVital since May 9, 2014. The class action seeks punitive damages, restitution, disgorgement, court costs, and attorneysā€™ fees.

PizanaĀ isĀ representedĀ by Ryan J. Clarkson, Shireen M. Clarkson and Bahar Sodaify of Clarkson Law Firm PC and Annick M. Persinger ofĀ Tycko & Zavareei LLP.

TheĀ SeroVital Anti-Aging Miracle Class Action Lawsuit is Pizana v. SanMedica International LLC, et al., Case No. 1:18Ā-cv-Ā00644, in the U.S. District Court for theĀ EasternĀ DistrictĀ ofĀ California.

I took Serovital for 6 months then all of a sudden started feeling horrible, lethargic. I was extremely healthy, ate very clean, no fast or boxed food, exercised, etc. After 6 months of usage I developed triple negative breast cancer, I am braca negative and have no family history of breast cancer. I am positive this junk caused it!

Iā€™ve taken Serrovital over the past 3 years. Iā€™d stop and restart the supplement. It worked and now that I am no longer taking it I look older.

I had no signs of cancer. Tried 2 weeks in June and had horrible headaches. Shipped it back as I was told. Never received my refund and by October had 2 lumps in the breast under the skin. I had a mastectomy Dec 15th. By this time I had 4 lumps. All homone fed. Started this trek in 2016 and Iā€™m at stage 4 metastatic breast cancer of the bones. Canā€™t even remove a tumor as the cancer is destroying my bones
