Anti-wrinkle cream has long been a popular product and with the growing desire for natural remedies, those that contain minerals and herbal supplements have been marketed heavily. However, some consumer advocates are investigating claims that certain products do not work as advertised.
There are many common ingredients that have some scientific backing to suggest that they aid in protecting skin from the impact of aging. For example, many anti-aging creams contain tocopherol, a type of Vitamin E, recognized by dermatologists for its ability to prevent free radicals from developing. A similar benefit can accrue from antioxidants such as West Indian cherry extract and Vitamin A found as retinol in many products.
