The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) sent out millions of dollars in refund checks in March, benefiting consumers affected by business schemes, false advertising and more.

Herbalife FTC refunds

Consumers who lost money to Herbalife’s multilevel marketing scheme may be able to benefit from a third round of Federal Trade Commission refund checks totaling over $4.2 million.

According to the FTC, Herbalife misled consumers into believing that they could earn a significant amount of money selling diet products, supplements and personal care products. Consumers allegedly lost money running Herbalife businesses under the company’s multi-level marketing scheme.

Herbalife agreed to restructure its business model and pay $200 million to resolve these claims. The FTC sent a first round of checks in January 2017 and a second round of payments in May 2019. Together these refunds were worth nearly $194.3 million.

Now, the FTC is sending a third round of payments totaling over $4.2 million to individuals who previously cashed their FTC refund check and paid at least $50 to Herbalife.

Consumers who receive an FTC refund check should cash it within 90 days.

Questions about these refunds can be directed to Analytics Consulting LLC at 1-844-322-8146.

DreamCloud mattress FTC refunds

The FTC is sending $45,000 in refund checks to consumers who purchased DreamCloud mattresses falsely advertised as “Made in USA.”

Resident Home LLC, the parent company of Nectar Sleep, allegedly made false claims that DreamCloud mattresses are manufactured with 100% U.S.-made materials. In reality, the mattresses were allegedly finished overseas and made from imported materials, the FTC claimed.

The FTC is sending nearly $45,000 in refund checks to consumers who were impacted by these false advertising claims. In the coming months, the agency will be contacting an additional 12,300 individuals who may be eligible for payments but did not receive a check from this round of payments.

Consumers who receive an FTC refund check should cash it within 90 days.

Consumers can contact JND Legal Administration at 1-844-798-0740 for any additional questions.

Coaching Department, Apply Knowledge FTC refunds

Individuals who lost money to Coaching Department and Apply Knowledge business coaching schemes could receive an FTC check from a fourth round of refunds totaling over $5.4 million.

The FTC accused several companies of operating illegal business coaching schemes. These schemes allegedly duped consumers into paying for “business coaching” services that could help them start an online business and make thousands of dollars each month.

Refunds worth $23.8 million have already been distributed in three initial rounds of payments, starting in October 2019. Additional funds from a case against the scheme’s payment processor have resulted in a fourth round of payments worth more than $5.4 million. Checks have been mailed to 8,781 consumers who previously cashed a refund check related to the case.

Consumers who receive an FTC refund check should cash it within 90 days.

Business coaching refunds from the Federal Trade Commission

The FTC is mailing $1.4 million in refund checks to consumers who lost money to several business coaching schemes.

According to the FTC, a telemarketing scheme promised consumers help in creating a profitable online business in exchange for expensive upfront fees. The scheme allegedly operated under various names including Professional Learning Institute, Pinnacle Learning Institute, Advantage Education and Discover Education.

The FTC previously sent $5.9 million in refund checks in January 2018, December 2018 and October 2021. The agency is now mailing a fourth round of payments worth over $1.4 million to 3,320 consumers who previously cashed a related FTC refund check.

Pointbreak Media FTC refunds

Small business owners who were targeted by an illegal robocall scheme may receive a check from a second round of refunds related to the issue.

Pointbreak Media, Modern Spotlight, National Business Listings and Modern Source Media allegedly claimed to represent Google and threatened to remove small businesses from Google searches unless they paid a fee. When consumers paid these fees, the defendants promised to guarantee top Google search placements in exchange for an additional fee, the FTC claims.

The first round of checks in August 2020 totaled over $440,000. Now, after recovering additional money from the defendants, the FTC is sending a second round of checks totaling over $1.8 million to affected consumers.

Consumers who receive an FTC refund check should cash it within 90 days.

Additional questions can be directed to JND Legal Administration at 1-833-928-2553.

RagingBull.com FTC refunds

Consumers who paid Raging Bull for investment recommendations and subscription fees may be able to benefit from $2.4 million in refund payments recently sent by the FTC.

According to the FTC, Raging Bull used misleading, unsupported earnings claims to dupe customers into paying for investment recommendations. In addition, the company allegedly trapped consumers in expensive subscription plans that were hard to cancel.

Raging Bull agreed to resolve the FTC allegations. From the resulting settlement, the FTC recently sent $2.4 million in PayPal payments to 9,862 affected consumers.

Consumers who receive a PayPal payment should accept it within 30 days.

Consumers who have additional questions about these FTC refunds can contact JND Legal Administration at 877-415-0647.
