A new class action lawsuit accuses Live Nation Entertainment of failing to adequately protect consumersโ personally identifiable information during a data breach.
Plaintiff Isiah Ramos filed the class action complaint against Live Nation on Oct. 7 in California federal court, alleging violations of state and federal consumer laws.
Live Nation is the worldโs leading entertainment company and operates as a global live entertainment promoter and venue management firm, selling live event tickets and hosting concerts and live performances across the world.
Ramos alleges that a recent cyberattack and data breach involving PII and protected health information occurred at Live Nation, affecting individuals who had provided their details to the company.
The Live Nation data breach, reported to the Office of the Vermont Attorney General on Oct. 1, 2026, compromised sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, government ID numbers and health records, the Live Nation class action lawsuit says.
Live Nation failed to encrypt and redact sensitive information, lawsuit claims
The class action lawsuit alleges that the Live Nation data breach was due to negligent and/or careless acts and omissions and that “[Live Nation] failed to even encrypt or redact highly sensitive information.”
Ramos claims hackers targeted and obtained the PII because of its value in exploiting and stealing identities, leaving victims at risk for their lifetimes.
The plaintiff alleges Live Nation failed to take adequate and reasonable measures to ensure that its network servers were protected against unauthorized intrusions and did not have robust security protocols and training practices in place.
As a result, Ramos claims he and class members suffered invasion of privacy, theft of their PII, lost or diminished value of their information, lost time and opportunity costs associated with attempting to mitigate the consequences of the breach and the continued risk of their information being accessed and abused.
Ramos seeks to represent anyone in the United States whose PII was compromised in the live Nation data breach.
He is suing for negligence, breach of implied contract and unjust enrichment and is seeking certification of the class action, damages and injunctive relief.
In related news, a federal jury found that Live Nation and its Ticketmaster subsidiary unlawfully monopolized the concert ticketing market, harming competition and potentially overcharging consumers. The lawsuit was brought by dozens of states and the District of Columbia.
