A trial has been set in a consolidated class action lawsuit accusing Burlington Coat Factory of violating California law by asking customers to provide their telephone numbers during credit card transactions. The trial, and any class action settlement that may be reached, will affect all consumers who visited a California Burlington Coat Factory store from February 14, 2010 through the present, and who were asked to provide their telephone number in conjunction with a credit card purchase transaction.
Plaintiffs in the consolidated Burlington Coat Factory Song-Beverly Cases allege the retail store violated California Civil Code section 1747.08 through its practice of requesting and recording telephone numbers from customers during transactions at retail stores located in California where customers paid for merchandise with a credit card.
Burlington Coat Factory denies that it improperly requested telephone numbers during credit card transactions and denies that it owes consumers any relief. A trial is set to begin on May 12, 2013. There is no money available now and no guarantee that there will be. If a class action settlement is reached, Top Class Actions will inform our readers of claim filing instructions.

Here in WISCONSIN they ask for account status, email address, zip code or may I have A telephone number(they didn’t ask for mine) so I gave them one that’s not in service you know the IRS scammers numbers. Domino’s pizza asks for zip codes here in Wisconsin. They said no zip code, no pizza during credit card transaction…so I paid in cash. I was contacted by the regional rep and he said its in there software and nothing domino’s can do about it. also kohl’s departments stores and some gas stations here like Citgo asks for zip codes with credit card usage. I will be contacting visa and Mastercard on these issues.
I paid cash and was asked my phone number in Washington state by Burlington’s
Which I felt was very rude and very private everybody could hear what my phone number was cuz they didn’t make no secret about it repeating it
