August vehicle recalls overview:

Automakers, including Subaru, Ford, Nissan and others, initiated recalls near the end of July and in August over concerns involving vehicle safety.
The companies initiated the vehicle recalls over concerns such as fire risks, braking and airbag issues and fuel leaks, among other things.
An automaker may choose to initiate a recall if it determines a vehicle contains a defect that can cause it to not work properly and/or present a safety risk to driver, passengers and others on the road.
Kia recalls 124,411 Niro, Niro Plug-in Hybrid vehicles over engine compartment fire concerns
Kia announced a recall for certain model year 2017-2022 Niro and 2018-2022 Niro Plug-in Hybrid vehicles over concerns a fuel leak could lead to an engine compartment fire.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published the recall July 31. It applies to a total of 124,411 Kia Niro and Niro Plug-in Hybrid vehicles.
“A fluid contaminated printed circuit board may lead to an electrical short circuit, thereby increasing the risk of an engine compartment fire while driving,” the Kia Niro recall states.
Ford recalls 870,701 F-150 vehicles over potentially defective electric parking brakes
Ford recalled more than 870,000 of its F-150 vehicles over concerns their electric parking brakes could activate unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
The NHTSA published the recall July 21. It applies to 870,701 Ford model year 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a single exhaust system.
“Damaged electric parking brake wiring may lead to inadvertent parking brake application while driving, potentially resulting in loss of control of the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash,” the Ford recall states.
Chrysler issues separate recalls over airbag, rearview camera concerns
Chrysler initiated a recall for more than 44,000 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles last month over concerns they were equipped with airbags that could fail to deploy properly.
The NHTSA published the recall Aug. 3. It applies to a total of 44,708 model year 2022-2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles.
“A compromised deployment of the (side curtain airbag) can reduce occupant protection in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury,” the Chrysler recall states.
Chrysler also recalled more than 160,000 Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer and Cherokee vehicles over concerns they may be equipped with defective rearview cameras.
The NHTSA published the recall Aug. 14. It applies to 162,713 vehicles.
Toyota initiates recall for 168,000 Tundra vehicles over fuel leak, fire concerns
Toyota announced a recall for 168,000 of its Tundra vehicles last month over concerns they could develop a fuel leak, thereby increasing the risk of a fire.
Toyota published the recall on its website Aug. 10. It applies to certain model year 2022-2023 Toyota Tundra and Toyota Hybrid vehicles.
“A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of fire,” the Toyota recall states.
Subaru recalls 35K+ model year 2024 Crosstrek, Impreza vehicles over wiring concerns
Subaru recalled more than 35,000 of its model year 2024 Crosstrek and Impreza vehicles in August over concerns they could suffer a wiring issue that would cause a short circuit and increase the risk of a crash.
The NHTSA published the recall Aug. 4. It applies to 35,357 model year 2024 Subaru Crosstrek and Subaru Impreza vehicles.
“A short circuit may cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash,” the Subaru recall states.
Nissan announces recall for model year 2020-2022 Sentras over steering control concerns
Nissan initiated a recall for model year 2020-2022 Nissan Sentra vehicles over concerns they may have been manufactured with tie rods that can break, causing a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.
The NHTSA published the recall Aug. 15. It applies to 236,238 vehicles.
“A bent tie rod can break and cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash,” the Nissan recall states.

We have a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan the Airbag light is on and we have never been notified of this defect. We would like to be put on the list to speak with someone.
