A pair of handheld steamers, My Little Steamer and My Little Steamer Go Mini, both hawked on the Home Shopping Network (HSN) channel has been recalled over reports that they leaked boiling water, burning consumers.
The recall, issued Wednesday, covers all models of My Little Steamer. Consumers are warned to stop using the products due to the risk of severe burns from water leaking or spraying out of the nozzles.
The recalled My Little Steamer units come in black, white, red, purple, and teal, and feature a flat or triangular steamer head. More than 5.4 million were sold throughout the US and Canada between January 2015 and December 2020. The units were sold online, on the HSN channel, or at various retailers, including Amazon, Target, Walmart, Lowes, and Bed Bath & Beyond.
“The steamers are handheld electrical appliances (120V, 60Hz, 900w), which use hot steam, emitted from a nozzle head to remove wrinkles from garments and other fabrics,” states the My Little Steamer recall notice posted by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. “The steamers were sold in two sizes: the standard (or deluxe) full-size My Little Steamer or the compact-size My Little Steamer Go Mini. The steamers were sold individually or in combination sets.”
HSN has received more than 220 reports of hot water leaking or even spraying from the My Little Steamer, including more than 100 reports of burn injuries from the product, says CPSC’s recall notice, which notes that 12 incidents included serious second- or even third-degree burns.
Consumers, who paid between $10 and $50 for My Little Steamer units, can obtain either a partial or full refund for the product depending on the time of purchase.
HSN, Ingenious Designs, and Joy Mangano are no strangers to legal action over My Little Steamer. The companies recently settled a 2018 class action lawsuit, in conjunction with CPSC and a Canadian health authority.
In addition, a class action lawsuit alleging their “Made for TV” My Little Steamers were defective was filed earlier in 2017 and claimed that the companies were well aware of the burn risks presented by the products, but sold them anyway.

The steam burnt the side of my hand when using. Never used it after that and have filed my claim.
i bought 10-12 my little steamer and mini steamer on a todays special with hsn. i gave them out as christmas presents. all of my relatives had bad experience with these. i called hsn and was told it was too late to send them back. now i called hsn and was told i need to have pictures and proof the cord was cut. i know they have record of how many i ordered and when they were ordered. i told them i ordered all brown, except for 2 that i ordered in fuchia. i have not ordered anything from hsn since. they were very unhelpful and aloof to say the least. and i wasted all that money on defective steamers.
I love mine! It sends out steam and water from the spout, which I assume is what a steamer is supposed to do, just like an iron. Being the nature of the product, what I’ve seen is exactly what I expect a steamer to do and be careful not to get yourself in the way of it. We have 3 in the family and none of ours are doing anything they shouldn’t do. Which is to send out boiling hot steam with water particles in it.
I have had this steamer for many years. The only time it has ever sputtered water is when I have overfilled it by accident. Best steamer on the market wish I could by another to keep in my timeshare locker.

I do have a little steamer and it starting spuing water and I discontinued use of it. I did not purchase my product from HSN it was purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond in St. Louis, Mo
Yes I was sent a letter about the recall of MyLittleSteamer & they also sent a Unique ID# for proof of purchase on filing claim. I have 2 but they only sent 1 letter smh
Hi. I called the lawyer or lead consultant for the claim. Her info is found on the website for the recall. She said you can email her how many you bought and they will include them in the claim.
who do i get in contact with. i ordered 10-12 thru hsn and i know they know the date ordered. i called them back after they were all boiling over and dangerous to use, and was told it was too late to send them back. i even told her i ordered all brown and 2 fuscia. i would appreciate if you could tell me who to get in contact with. hsn was not helpful at all.
