Alpha Foods voluntarily recalled its Meatless Breakfast Sandwiches and Burritos due to traces of undeclared milk, which may pose a health risk for those with milk allergies.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration website published the recall Dec. 21. It applies to a range of meatless breakfast sandwich and burrito products, which can be seen here

Alpha Foods distributed the Meatless Breakfast Sandwiches and Burritos nationally throughout retail stores and shipped them directly to consumers who purchased them online, the breakfast sandwich and burrito recall states.

“Consumers who have purchased our products with the identified lot numbers above, should not consume the products,” the company says. “Return the product to the place of purchase for a replacement or full refund.”

Milk contamination occurred during production, burrito, breakfast sandwich recall says

To date, there have been no illnesses or allergic reactions as a result of the recall, the company says.

Alpha initiated the burrito and breakfast sandwich recall after it discovered it distributed the products containing traces of undeclared milk.

“Subsequent investigation indicates that the contamination is likely to have occurred during the production of our products,” the company says.

Alpha Foods is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

In other recall news, earlier this month, Mountain View Packaging LLC recalled more than 6,000 pounds of frozen Crispy Chicken with Almonds entrée products sold at Walmarts and other retailers nationwide due to misbranding.
